here's just a question, if some of you can just read the question, vs turning it into this we v they deal.

If DD is done and Hart has made a decision, why in the world is he spending more time with DD, his coaches, and team on the practice field this week? If he is done, why would he spend time evaluating them more than he has in 2 years?

If this is happening I would guess that it is to oversee what is going on. If Hart and Dooley did have the falling out, some said screaming match, that many have reported, Hart could be there to protect UTs investment. If Hammy had had more hands on with Lane and Orgeron near the end, he might have been able to stop some of the garbage they pulled when they left.

Whenever I have to terminate an employee, and they "sort of" know it is coming I supervise them a lot more closely to ensure nothing "wrong" is going on with a lame duck manager so to speak. If I were guessing I would say there is a good chance that is going on here.

Because we're all looking for a reason to believe. Unfortunately, none of it meshes with anything said outside VN.

False, there are other people and places saying it. If you're looking for the media to come out and say Gruden to Tennessee you're gonna be waiting for a bit. As of now, Dooley is the HC...as of now.

Recruiting focuses your attention on 50 players max & you are competing and trying to guess the intentions of perhaps 5 other schools.

draft prep requires looking at 100s of players and guessing the intentions of 32 other teams plus evaluating it ***ainst filling needs with free agents. Drafts are much more in depth than recruiting.

even if you call that a wash, NFL has combines, free agency prep, OTA, Mini-Camp, a pre-season twice as long as college and a 30-60 day longer regular season.

think about just away games. college coach leaves Friday afternoon or saturday morning for a game. gets home saturday night then sunday does his show and spends the day at home or with family. 2 hr practice monday morning then the players are gone for the day. He does this 4-5x/year.

nfl coach leaves his house saturday morning for a game. doesn't get back till late Sunday night, then goes back to the office to prepare film for Monday morning & prepping for the next week. Players are there all day reviewing film. Tuesday & Wednesday is practice & game planning. It's Thursday before he sees his family. He does this 8-10x/year.

Sorry but you lose all credibility when you say recruiting involves 50 players. That tells me you have no idea of the process that recruiting is for college coaches.

I created this thread for those of you that do not believe all the Gruden hype. Please post your attacks and thoughts here and stop trolling our Gruden thread.

There are many that want to hear what the likes of OCI, Skeeter, DTO, Boro-Vol, etc. have to say.

I'll bite....but I can only speculate on this.

Rumors have abounded this week about the tone of last weeks players only meeting, and it seems it was not of a pro-Dooley nature. Then we see Dooley call out players during his press conference leading to a public blow-up between Hart and Dooley in the AD earlier this week.

I surmise that if Hart is spending a lot of time at practice he may be babysitting the team and Dooley, trying to keep a hotheaded coach who knows he's already gone in check.

Just my two-cents.

no sources here but I would say you watch a guy you're worried about more than a guy you aren't. He's bound to be making sure they're keeping up appearances, working like they're supposed to be and as already mentioned maybe even watching close at some coaches they may want to try and keep. I have no doubt that if they can save some guys like CSP and CJG they'd like to save that coin. That way you have a familiar face for recruits and players for a transition.

My former boss changed the locks on the doors when he terminated someone...

You've been cheating! Mountains and beautiful colors, AND keeping up with this sh**.

Well, I have skimmed over several hundreds of posts and applied selective reading b/c it would be impossible for me to catch up.

Besides, I still have to keep up somewhat b/c I am the Queen and have to keep the castle in order.:p

Uh, no. Not even close. Where did you pull this information from? Thin air? Not even close. Wow.

This is all I am saying. We are a pretty desperate fan base. Big time hires at big time salaries are an excellent thing. 10 year contracts for record breaking amounts before you've even seen the guy coach a CF team are not so much.

On the positive side I do believe on name and recognition alone, plus SB ring bling while sitting in living rooms will catapult recruiting like a rocket. As long as he has Joe's and assistants willing to beat the street evaluating I believe we'll be at the very least good. My only point is at 5 million per year I believe errybody would be demanding great.

Gruden would also catapult season ticket sales and just ticket sales in general. I quit buying season tickets a couple of years ago because the tailgate I go to always had tickets available for every game. That wouldn't be the case if Gruden is hired. I believe the excitement of Gruden would pay for itself the first two years. After that he would have to win, which I believe he would. But let's say he didn't, I still believe its worth the risk and would put us in at least the same situation financially even if he fails.

If things are in place for an announcement at a certain time and place, Hart maybe watching to make sure no one spills the beans early. He may also be watching to see if thing go sour during practice and he has to make a move faster than planned.

I don't think anything is done till after the season period. All credible sources point to that. At that point if we fire Dooley it has to be a big name. If we hire a Smart or another coordinator we might as well keep Dooley.

I agree with you on the Kirby vs Dooley.

Why does everything have to be a trashing of other posters and their ecred?

I enjoy all of their posts no matter if I agree with them or not. Frankly, I do not believe in the Gruden rumors, but I am not going to trash posters over it.

the point of a thread is for discussion and debate. What you're asking for will not happen and it will probably only create 2 threads where Gruden info is posted.

if you are really interested in what only certain posters say then you can visit their profile and choose to view only their posts.
