Official Jon Gruden Thread III

Lots of emails to me regarding the timeline of Dooley's firing and Gruden's hiring. To start, UT will not have two head coaches under contract at the same time. Thus, Dooley's official firing will take place first. The earliest Dooley will be fired is Sunday. The latest is the week after the UK game. This all depends on how stubborn Dooley is and whether he's willing to negotiate a reduced buyout (due to alleged breaches of his employment contract with UT). Again, it's not a question of "if" but when.

Within a few days, at most, after Dooley's contract being terminated, UT will announce Gruden as the next head coach. The contract terms have already been agreed upon in principle. Don't expect to hear anything concrete from the "media" or directly from UTAD until Dooley is fired.

Do go too far out on a limb...

lol @ delusional Arkansas fans

Even as down as we currently are; there's no chance in hell they could ever compete with us on this large of a scale.

As down as our AD has been in revenue, most notably football, our AD had a $10mil higher revenue than Arkansas did.

Again, that's factoring in a reported loss of $8.3mil in concession sales and an average attendance of around 10,000 under capacity. Not even factoring in losses associated with reduced merchandise sales and donations.

I just want to say thanks to those who supported me when I started the original Jon Gruden thread. Like I said I before I had a good friend that works at ESPN and he gave me some inside information.

This isn't the first time that I have broke news on here and for everyone else that has done the same in the past I appreciate what you do for the fans.

Tim Brando was just discussing this on his show and predicts Sunday will be a day of a lot of announcements across the SEC. I think if we are letting him go, we would have to do it at the same time as Auburn and Kentucky just to keep pace. Even if we win Saturday night, Hart could say the timing was forced by the rest of the league, plus the ethical part would maybe get lost in all the noise.

I want to believe, but there is nothing but speculation. Why on earth would any of you get so excited without one shred of proof?

This damn thread is making me insane. I feel like a little kid in early December looking at all the presents under the tree, particularly the big one in the back that I can't get to to see who it's for.

Not to mention economic boost to local business's during game days

Boro Vol.

Just like you guys said it would be. Smokescreens, more media picking up on it this week, and silence. Have not seen the original Grudenites posting much, alot of new posters on this thread. Where is Smokey? Still feel good about Gruden?

:eek:lol: How in the hell would smokey know anything besides what she reads in here?

Just drive the ex-coach bus around and pick em all up...nobody will notice...

I dont know if Hart will clean house or not, he seems happy with alot of things around here. Hes not happy about Dooley at all.

As far as Gruden goes, i have not heard his name mentioned one time within the ad. If something has happened, the news must be coming from the Gruden end of things. The one name ive heard mentioned several times is Smart, but ive heard if Hart makes a move it would be for a proven head coach. Thats all i know.

How would it be unethical? Especially if the Dooley->UNC inquires were valid.

What's funny is that ark has been saying this same stuff about Gruden for months... They've had insiders that have been swearing up and down that the JG deal is done..

Gruden has said that the only two college jobs he would consider are tenn, and notre dame. So arkansas can keep on living in fantasy land.

If i go on the FF, posters expect me to believe that Dooley will suddenly start beating solid SEC teams and return us to the SECCG in 2013 without any proof. If I go to the RF, people want me to believe that Greene and every other uncommitted big time prospect is headed our way without proof. At worst, this forum is just a continuation of the rest.
