I'm not. This is the absolute truth. When I first heard the Gruden rumors I did not believe them. Now that I have independently confirmed it, I feel very comfortable posting what I have posted. I'm not sure of the exact years or money, but Gruden will be our next head coach.

You only reported an initial offer early this week. I don't even think it was Monday. Now, it is a done deal. The legal side of this just doesn't go that fast.

I like you OCI and I think you have connections, but you've always made it sound like on last year's and this year's coaching staff. How does that get you into the new AD's office?

Dooley has breached his contract through certain actions he has taken. He would be smart to agree to a slight reduction ($250K to $500K range) to be done with it.

Are you considering a drop from 5M to 500k a slight reduction or am I not picking up on the sarcasm?

Just like UT was going to Hammer Orgeron for calling recruits on his UT issued phone after the kiffin deal broke. I don't buy any of that. Just wishful thinking.

So are you ready to share that tidbit of information your shared with Nick the other night, or is that what you emailed him?

This is turning into a win-win situation. It's a win if we get Gruden and we will be able to tell our grandkids about the day we broke the internet if we don't get him.

Personally, while I am hopeful, I don't believe it yet.

Not questioning anyone's sources or what they have heard but I won't believe the hire of JG until I see it. I do believe DD will be out unless he wins out and gets a bowl win. JMO

Just based on gut feeling, I say Dooley is out, and we don't get Gruden. That would be our luck, wouldn't it?

Yes it would.

"Well, this guy has potential. His program went 4-8 the first year, 5-7 his second year and an impressive 7-5 his final year. I think we got a rising star."

If dooley wins against SC then wins out including a bowl he would be 9-4 idk how we could fire someone with that record.

But the team is going to really have to come together to win this week.
SC should be pissed after 2 losses. And if dooley has been told hes gone, we will be doing some crazy stuff. But if dooley wants to be able to coach D2 somewhere he needs to atleast get this one.

I would really like to retain Pittman. He has done an amazing job with the O line. I wouldn't mind retaining Hinshaw for recruiting purposes.

Pittman has been solid. Personally, I want as much of a clean slate as possible. Hinshaw has been with Dooley the whole time. Recruiting would be fine without him.

I'll just have to sit back and laugh if Taggart is our next coach. Put him next to Dooley on paper, and they're the same damn coach. Cool, Taggart beat a crappy Kentucky team. Dooley beat a crappy Mississippi State team. Cool, Taggart can recruit. Dooley was a recruiting coordinator at LSU. Cool, Taggart has a 14-17 record at WKU. Dooley was 17-20 at Tech.

a special teams/Tight end coach vs an offensive coordinator (who's offense led the team to a National Title), RB coach, QB coach ...

big difference.

making it seem as if Taggart can only recruit is a tremendous disservice to his football mind and what he does with that offense and that tea,.

I get it tho, you havent seen them play

Skeeter, you have mentioned in the past that if Dooley was gone, you felt that you would likely be exiting as well. Do you still feel that way, or do you think you will continue to clock in?

I never said Taggart could only recruit. I pointed out similarities, because in my opinion, Taggart and Dooley are the exact same on paper (which was my main point in the first place).

Oh, and I watch plenty of football. You know what they say about assumptions...

Ok, I am going on record as saying there is absolutley no way Dooley gets fired if we win the next 5 games.

I don't care who comes on here and says, there is a chance. There isn't. You all are crazy if you think that.

2nd, the people HOPING we lose this weekend so this possible Gruden fantasy can come true can all get out. This is our VOLS playing against the GAMECOCKS this weekend. IF your blood doesn't boil at the thought of not pulling like crazy for TN this weekend you have real problems.

The coaching situation will work itself out...root for TN while you can.

If we win out and go 8-4 who's to say Dooley can't turn our program around? Recruiting would be great and we would go to a really good bowl.

I'm no insider, but I believe Hart probably made the final decision to end the Dooley era right after the MSU loss. That game, I believe was Dooley's nail in the coffin. JMO.

I think Dooley is done no matter what happens the rest of the way. He needed to atleast be competitive against Bama. A South Carolina win doesnt look all that good anymore either, they have looked awful the past couple of weeks.

Skeeter, may I invite you to take a look at te football forum and enter a thread titled "lots of hostile" :) it's a good one!
