I agree with nearly everything you are saying. JG in no way will be announced as the new coach the same day or even a few days after DD is fired. If all this is true its only a hand shake agreement and a number of days would have to pass before it would happen.

I honestly can't see a win against South Carolina being enough to save Dooley's job.

With that said, I also don't see any way we win @USC. They're lights out at home and their 2 losses were road games. Their dreams of National Championship and SEC title are gone but Spurrier despises UT. He'll have his merry band of cocks ready to go.

My call is USC wins by 30+.

Uh...hate to bring the bad news...but I believe someone posted yesterday that Gruden's wiki page has been modified to say he is the HC of UT.

Duh, because maybe the lawyers are involved? There are a lot of legal pieces moving around right now. You have potential buyouts of existing contracts with FCDD and his assistants. Hart is playing hardball with DD. He is basically forcing him to be a lame duck coach twisting in the wind until the end of the season (and be miserable); or come to his senses and negotiate his buyout down. I think DD wants out as bad as we want him out at this point but he is a spoiled, petulant brat who wants the entire buyout (how can you be a youngest child called precious by your momma and not be spiled?).

You also have to get an understanding in principle with the new coach for his compensation and what he would have to spend on his staff. If you are smart, you have this in place before reaching a final resolution on DD.

Then, you finalize your agreement for less than $5 million with DD and let him "resign" to save face.

Then you sign the deal with the new coach and announce him.

Easy, right?

If they have a coach lined up who is not currently coaching elsewhere he will be gone in short order. If an interimn is named the incoming coach could start contacting recruits ala Meyer at OSU.

Seriously? Angry?

It's the Internet. I think you have to go in knowing that about 10% is true, 80% is uninformed and 10% is a troll job. And on top of that, there's a distinct possibility that SBV's info is 100% correct but something changes and it doesn't happen.

My advice, watch the game on Saturday, have a drink or three and roll with it.

Eric Vol is a good poster. Why bash him for being skeptical? I don't think any of us are 100% sure this is a done deal and Gruden will 100% be our coach, I know I'm not, so why bash a guy for saying he doesn't think it's to that point yet?

But to believe there is no way Dooley could save his job would be foolish. Even if Gruden wants to come.
