I noticed Dooley brought up Bray's int's vs bama again today. I'm not trying to defend Bray bc I think most would agree he struggled vs bama. But DD talked about how poorly he play in the post game, on the Dooley show, in yesterday's presser, & again today.

What makes me mad is he was asked about S Car's tough stretch of games being similar to ours & noted all the turnovers they had last week vs uf & said "that's what happens when you play good teams."

If he hasn't already, he may be close to losing this team again with his public bashing of players like Bray & Hunter imo. No need for him to take it this far. JMO

IMO, He is right in calling them out. Treat them like men. Expect them to be men, handle their business and do their job.

To answer OCI, I think 80% of this site is decidedly against Dooley, regardless of his close to the season. I have lost most of my faith... But a win Saturday, and wins the rest of the way will keep me in his corner. A loss anywhere along the way, and I say it is time for a change. The evidence is overwhelmingly negative

A win or tough loss to usce.. 4-0 in november and a bowl victory had us(Pending usce game obviously) 8-5.

I for one didn't see us going undefeated and 8-5 or at best 9-4 would for sure have me supporting Dooley. Then again if we lose a couple games between now & then and end up 6-6 or worse.. It may be time to part ways.

Make no mistake, If we go on a roll and win 6 in a row, not only will Dooley still be the coach next season - he would get a contract extension.

I'm fine with it. If the players would do their job on the field, mainly taking care of the ball, we would not be 0-4 in SEC right now.

I just think he's going a little too far. He can treat them like men by calling them out in front of the whole team behind closed doors instead of continuing to do it with the media.

If these players were professionals getting paid it would be different. They're not. And save me the they're getting a free education argument, too. JMO. That's all I'm saying about that.

IMO, you guys are reaching. Preparation is done during the week. Many have won championships while having a perceived stoic nature. The fact of the matter is that we just haven't been getting the job done. Hell, Sal shows passion and toughness every week and we see those results. The same was said about Wilcox and he gets results.

Plain and simply the product we have put on the field just hasn't been up to par.

I was trying to address the general public's perception of him in an attempt to explain why some may not like Dooley as a coach.

However, I share the same personal view, to an extent. I'm well aware that you could have a stonewall coach and still be very successful (Belichick comes to mind). But, let's not get off base. It's well known that Dooley is a meticulous, intelligent guy. I have no question that he puts adequate amount of time into preparation and the like. I just don't see the passion that I think the program and the players need to see, from a public standpoint. I think that could go a long way.

0-infinity against any SEC team of consequence for the previous three years would offset.

And if that has been done but they aren't responding? Then what? Brush it off and forget about it? Sometimes extreme situations inspire people.

I'm just wondering how can you not have a team UP for it's No.1 rivalry game all year. I saw two players just balling out for our team(Patterson and Sentimore). The others should've matched that intensity. But we've got a coach that's soft and I'm tired of it.

Neither one of those 2 players balled out either. Sentimore had a nice sack and a couple of QB hurries but he didnt do much the rest of the game. Patterson had 1 catch. He did have a 25+ avg on his KRs but thats pretty much it. No one stood out on either side of the ball.

If you don't think Sentimore played well, then I have no idea what game you were watching. He was consistently in the backfield during the game, and sorry to say, he was the only one of our DL in the backfield most of the game.

CP affected the game in numerous ways. Although I don't think he had a great game, he was very productive. 25+ yds average on kickoff returns is game-changing. Against a team like Bama, determining field position is huge.

With respect to criticisms of Dooley criticizing players publicly, can anyone categorically say how many of these comments are unsolicited, as opposed to honest answers to questions posed by the media? If most of these remarks occur within the latter context, which I am inclined to believe is the case, what do you want him to do, offer "no comment" after "no comment"? Certainly, nobody here is naive enough to assume that media members would never ask leading questions with the hope of inciting controversy.

As for a lack of "fire" or passion, Tom Landry and Neyland himself were as stoic as you can get, in terms of onfield behavior. Needless to say, they enjoyed their fair share of success. Personally, I will pass on the kind of fire that Muschamp offers; his behavior at halftime of last week's game was little short of a rabid dog's.

At this point, I do not expect any new commitments any time soon. Also, it will be important to watch whether our current commitments begin to take official visits elsewhere. If/when Dooley is replaced, I expect the new HC to be able to keep most, if not all, of the commitments he wants. Dooley and Co. did a good job recruiting kids to the University of Tennessee and not a particular coach.
That is a very sobering thought that you laid out here. IMO, it all comes down to who the new coach would be.

Anything short of a grand slam hire of a proven successful head coach will harm the recruiting and out our program back closer to where we were a couple of years ago. A Kirby Smart hire would not likely do much to save this class. Nobody knows if he can recruit much less successfully take n the duties of a head coach at a major SEC school.

If a move is made, Dave Hart has to hire a coach who will unite the fanbase. instead of one who will keep the fan factions apart at at the coach's throat all of the time. Kirby Smart or any other assistant coach will not be the guy to do that.

after all the info, and rumors flying around the last couple of days things have gone eerily quiet. Anybody got any updates? Skeeter? OCI? SpringBok?

Based on Dooleys press conference I would guess the decision has already been made in private.

He acted like a man who's dog had just died
