Official Jon Gruden Thread II (merged)

I apologize for asking this to those in the know, but I have been trying to catch up on the thread to find it.

Does anyone know if Gruden would begin immediately, either to coach with current staff or just to recruit and manage (and leave ESPN midseason)?

Again, sorry if this has been asked but have read tons of pages and not seen it.

To the insiders:

DOOLEY WAS TOLD AFTER MSU HE WON'T BE BACK

Insiders disagree here.

DOOLEY WILL BE LET GO SOMETIME BETWEEN NOW AND IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE SC GAME

All insiders agree on this timeline?

NO FORMAL OFFER

If Dooley has already been informed of his fate then isn't the job technically open?

Is it any more ethical to negotiate an informal offer while the team faces the toughest stretch on the schedule and still has a chance to salvage the season?

CONSENSUS?

Is there a consensus among you at this point other than "good news is coming"? If you claim to be an insider and have posted in this thread I assume you won't mind going on record for those who haven't read 20,000 posts or can't recall exactly which of you predicted what.

Thank you.

I'm no insider but I wouldn't expect Gruden on the sidelines until next season.

Thank you, sir. It would certainly be unusual but I wonder since many are hinting at big news soon re: Gruden and the MNF remark. I was just curious if he would finish season at MNF or get right to work, hypothetically, in the next couple weeks (like Meyer did at OSU). Wasn't sure what the reported deal/plan would entail.

I agree. You can't expect Gruden to come in and immediately turn things around this season. He will need the entire off-season to implement his and his coordinator's methods at the least. The players will still have much of the stench of Dooley on them and will need some major shower etiquette to clean it off. No sense for Gruden to allow some of that to wear off on him. It would only fuel some arguments for other coaches in recruiting were they to lose one of their remaining games. Letting Gruden come in after the season and let the hype and some real coaching work its magic and next season we could suprise some people.

I love when people quote me but I just don't like antique furniture and retards.
I can't eat around either one of 'em.

Did you know Billy Bod Thornton put that part in because he has a real life phobia to antique furniture? Apperently because he hated visiting his grandmothers house who had a lot of old furniture.

I think someone said earlier the MNF comment was a troll job. I could be wrong on that though.

Billy Bob is good people. I play poker with him over at JD Shellnut's every week.

This is an awesome thread. Don't be a stinker.

How on earth do you construe my post as a stinker? I think it brings up relevant points for discussion. No? Does everyone know the answers but me? What am I missing? I'm being serious.

Met him several times and did not know that.
