If Dooley has already been informed of his fate then isn't the job technically open?

Is it any more ethical to negotiate an informal offer while the team faces the toughest stretch on the schedule and still has a chance to salvage the season?

Is there a consensus among you at this point other than "good news is coming"? If you claim to be an insider and have posted in this thread I assume you won't mind going on record for those who haven't read 20,000 posts or can't recall exactly which of you predicted what.

I politely ask a few questions and get called a douche. Awesome.

I'm not calling anyone out. I'm just asking for some clarification which should help everyone fend off any future e-cred battles that may arise.

Not sure why people don't like OCI. He's had some pretty good info over the last couple of years. The 3 amigos thing was pretty bad, but just about everyone thought Denico Autry was a silent committ. And, with what has come to light about Miss State's recruiting, $$$, especially with the Ms juco coaches, it's probably not fair to be too hard on him for that missed prediction.

Spot on. One of the main things a strong leader does is praise in public and rebuke in private. I am a horrible husband if I am dogging my wife to other people(never do btw) instead of doing the hard yet proper thing and having an honest discussion with her in which I admit my failures as well. That is what leaders do. The fact a coach has to use the bully pulpit shows (imo) that there is not a trust there with his players that provides an open line of communication. My PERCEPTION is that DD is concerned with making DD look good, and he has done this for 3 years. I get the impression he was forced to take the job by the way he has talked at times. Cowards throw people under the bus.
