Dooley will not be the coach next season.

Did you even read the thread..? Strong and Petrino are in talks. Nothing will be made official until we agree on terms with one of these. Gruden has shown no interest, neither have other coaches we tried to talk to.

You have absolutely no ****ing clue what you are talking about.

We fire Dooley now and it becomes the highest-risk job in college football. You have 2.5 years to right the ship and put a team on the field that can beat the best teams in the country. By midway through your 3rd year if you haven't done so you're fired.

Yeah any coach would respectfully decline. Dooley would have declined if they had told him that.

Our basketball coaches went in and out 4 year revolving doors till we got our man. Bruce Pearl came here and fixed that revolving door every 4 years. Most coaches are ultra competitive and don't see themselves going 4-17 in any conference especially with the resources Tennessee has at said coaches disposal.

Nope, and it won't be as hot if we beat USCe Saturday either. Regardless of what Zas is saying, it's not set in stone just yet. A win Saturday will cool things off significantly. A loss in any of the last for games will also heat things up again.

South Carolina, killing field of dead beat UT coaches. Perhaps Dooley will make 3 out of last 4.

Dools will be terminated at 10:00 est next Monday morning.

Sorry Derek....it is for the best. It wasn't you; it was us!

So it's not possible to go 9-4?

(there now you can say "not under Dooley it's not!!!!)

Saying that a decision has not been made as far as Dooley's job on the Hill.............there has been one and no matter what the results are from here on out, he will be let go.

Would be possibly the most ignorant decision an AD could make. 1 or 2 more L's and its the right decision. Right now it's just plain ignorant.

zas is a 100% correct about dooley being gone at the end of the season. even if he wins out he is gone. Due to the losses of kentucky, and then losing to our biggest rivals this year, the rest of the games do not matter. You guys also need to get off our cases about shanahan because you have no clue what happened in the contract deal. it was literally a last minute disagreement. hamilton was awesome, not.

Keeping a coach who can do nothing but lose and further drive this program into the ground is ignorant. And like what many of you doolrights have been harping on for the last year or two, the AD knows more about running a program than we do.

Yep, that the final straw. If you can't beat USCjr, then you are the wrong guy for the Vols.

Its crazy to think that a coach will be fired when the worst loss (this year at least) was to the 11th ranked team. But, that is life in the SEC. You're gonna have to play teams like that every week in this league. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we're any closer to beating those teams than we were when Dooley took over.

That is why you get fired.

ilove dooley, but as eddie told me. "this job is to big for him, they need a coach that can lay the hammer down and will be in their faces." and i completely agree with eddie about that. i wish dools success where ever he may go. he did go to bring back stability but now we need someone to take us over the hump

What I'm saying is common sense. I don't think you have to know a lot about running a program to see that's a bad decision.

The man had an affair. Millions of men do it every year. He got caught and has paid the price. Did he murder someone? Kidnap a child? I get it is wrong. I get that some like to hang a person for making a mistake. I would also bet alot of the ones saying he is scum would give one of our coaches a pass in a heartbeat if he were married and cheated on his wife. Is he a risk? Maybe he is. I watched the presser he did with ESPN in August and IMO, the man deserves another chance. Some team WILL hire him and they WILL win. Hart could hire Petrino and protect UT at the same time.

What you forget is what he did to the Falcons. He is a coward, quitter, and only cares about himself. Petrino cant handle the heat of being a Tennessee coach. He lied to Arthur Blank to his face and left a "Paper note" on the players lockers saying he wasn't coming back!
Petrino has been a winning coach in the college ranks, but Tennessee doesn't need this guy anywhere around the program.

Besides I'm sure Kentucky probably already has a contract in place to replace Joker with Petrino. They will hire Petrino. just see the Calapari hire. They dont care as long as he comes in and wins for them.

What you are saying isnt common sense....its complete ignorance

We fire Dooley right now, tell him he is gone regardless of record this year, and he goes 9-4, you're sending a message to any other coach saying "by year 3 you better go better than 9-4 in the best conference or you're fired"

Explain to me how I'm ignorant.
