We fire Dooley now and it becomes the highest-risk job in college football. You have 2.5 years to right the ship and put a team on the field that can beat the best teams in the country. By midway through your 3rd year if you haven't done so you're fired.
Yeah any coach would respectfully decline. Dooley would have declined if they had told him that.
Nope, and it won't be as hot if we beat USCe Saturday either. Regardless of what Zas is saying, it's not set in stone just yet. A win Saturday will cool things off significantly. A loss in any of the last for games will also heat things up again.
Saying that a decision has not been made as far as Dooley's job on the Hill.............there has been one and no matter what the results are from here on out, he will be let go.
Would be possibly the most ignorant decision an AD could make. 1 or 2 more L's and its the right decision. Right now it's just plain ignorant.
Yep, that the final straw. If you can't beat USCjr, then you are the wrong guy for the Vols.
Its crazy to think that a coach will be fired when the worst loss (this year at least) was to the 11th ranked team. But, that is life in the SEC. You're gonna have to play teams like that every week in this league. Unfortunately it doesn't look like we're any closer to beating those teams than we were when Dooley took over.
Keeping a coach who can do nothing but lose and further drive this program into the ground is ignorant. And like what many of you doolrights have been harping on for the last year or two, the AD knows more about running a program than we do.
The man had an affair. Millions of men do it every year. He got caught and has paid the price. Did he murder someone? Kidnap a child? I get it is wrong. I get that some like to hang a person for making a mistake. I would also bet alot of the ones saying he is scum would give one of our coaches a pass in a heartbeat if he were married and cheated on his wife. Is he a risk? Maybe he is. I watched the presser he did with ESPN in August and IMO, the man deserves another chance. Some team WILL hire him and they WILL win. Hart could hire Petrino and protect UT at the same time.
What you are saying isnt common sense....its complete ignorance
