A termination is much less fluid than a Pre-signed contract for hire...IMO
So....all you guys that hated on Clay Travis for saying Dooley was a consumate loser still think he was way off base? Just wondering, sometimes the truth hurts.
Please, it was a hip injury, not a triple bypass or something of the sort.
Not so sure if it is contingent on having another hire in place. And JG still has MNF contract.
Maybe the AD is OK with a fishing expedition. I don't doubt DD is under serious scrutiny. However I am not sure skepticism is out of line with regard to leak, disinformaiton or not, that DD has been let go and this will be announced at the end of the season.
This kind of access rumor is usually incomplete, imperfect information.
I agree, however, this particular debate (for you) is a no win situation in regard to the Dooley termination because there's a higher percentage that the rumors are right than wrong. So, in the event he does get canned today or 6 weeks from now...all the imperfect information becomes valid, whether it is right at this very moment or not.
I don't disagree with your skepticism at all...but this is an inevitable situation and it keeps gettin hotter and hotter, so eventually some deliberate information is going to come out...be it through him or someone else that will immediately report to this board. Once tht occurs, the details then become fluid...perhaps that moment is now??
Actually, you can die from hip fractures via marrow poisoning. Ever hear of old people fracturing their hip and soon after their dead? The reason is often due to marrow poisoning. The reason his doctors called him in for emergency surgery instead of allowing him to put it off is because any fracture to the hip runs that risk -- it's where most of our marrow is stored. The surgery isn't risky but the injury is and being on that sideline was a bigger risk than people realize.
The cascading rumors did not roll the Shannon situation. DD is still the coach. Its a win for me to support the Vols moving through the rest of the year. I understand his situation is tenuous. I simply choose not to speculate that at this time it is doomed. I support the players, coaches and team moving forward. Rationalizations such as the one's you offer are unconvincing to me.
TN finishing 9-4 lol thats a good one
God I hope and pray that when the new coach is announced its a home run hire!! it better be a coach on the caliber of saban or Tressel or Meyer..if we do get a coach on that level we prob can expect at least 9 wins next season and possibly 10 after that and then by year 3 be national contenders again....
