Dooley will not be the coach next season.

There is a lot circulating out there about who knew what and when, but you know as well as I do, if Dooley is gone he is building a "resume" with every game he still coaches.

I would assume if he is let go l his coaching career is over. He will get into administration is my guess.

To my original point: he wouldn't have risked his health by getting on the field last night knowing his job was lost.

I understand your point. It will be interesting to see where his career takes him.

Please, it was a hip injury, not a triple bypass or something of the sort.

That's the point here. Dooley's situation likely is fluid until its not.

As are most things, but the odds of Dooley pulling himself out of the fire requires luck that guy hasn't seen since he stepped foot on campus.

If and when it happens publicly it will be interesting to see if that is the case. I wonder if UT has some leverage to renegotiate some of the buyout terms.

Just can't see him being officially fired. He's too young in his coaching career to have been "fired" from an SEC school. It's worth it career-wise for him to take, say $3M as a settlement to agree to "Step down" and save face instead of sitting on his $5M and making a bad professional situation even worse.

May also make for a much more gratuitous reference page.

With Dooley's law background, Hart has to be really careful, you'd think.

However, ya gotta think that a humiliating termination is worth something to Dooley and his future.

So....all you guys that hated on Clay Travis for saying Dooley was a consumate loser still think he was way off base? Just wondering, sometimes the truth hurts.

Also, Dooley will not be officially fired. He will "resign," after negotiating an agreed upon amount that allows him to save face and allows the University to save some money.

Doc, would this saving face fall under... complications with the hip surgery. Seems hard to do at 0-15 versus ranked teams after SCjr. :):hi:

Lol, agreed. I just can't see Dools sitting back and saying, "I'm not going anywhere until you pry this job away from me." If Hart wants him out, Dooley will negotiate an exit.
