This quote stood out to me...

All of our challenges can be overcome and will be overcome, but first we have to be realistic about what they are," Hart said. "To me, that's the easy part. And then we have to build strategic plans to achieve what we want to achieve. And the toughest thing is that we have to do it with urgency.

Hart isn't messing around. He's going to do it right and I'm glad he's UT's AD.

What do you want Hart to endorse?

It's pretty simple. Come out and say he believes CDD is working hard to get this rebuild complete in the right direction. That the 2 speak frequently and they both know where things are going and he supports him 100% as the head football coach of the Vols.

It doesn't have to be much just positive support.

This quote stood out to me:

"I'm competitive to a fault. I'm not proud of that, but that's kind of in my DNA," Hart said. "So nobody's more upset, believe me. I just can't display it like some people can.

"But I wouldn't want to work in an environment where there was no passion. You just have to understand that. What I have to do is see the big picture — because I see it everyday. Most people see it on Saturday, I see it seven days a week. I have to view the big picture, and that's what I've always done."

I definitely think Dooley is here next year.

Agreed. The sooner people realize Dooley isn't going anywhere, the better. He agrees with what CDD is doing, but he wants to see results. That's what I get from a lot of that article.

And if he doesn't get those this year, what happens? I think he stays, but if he loses to Mizzou or Vandy, I hope he's gone.

I wouldn't be so sure, Lynx. I want Dooley to succeed just as much as you and every other Vol fan but CDD is coaching for his life the next two weeks and if he doesn't win one of them he's likely gone after the USCjr game, IMO.

This just posted from Hubbs on whether Hart might replace Dooley...

All AD's have a plan (or the good ones do); we think/are told that extremely informal, third-party conversations could already have been taking place. That doesn't mean he's going to use the plan or put it into place, but of course he has a plan for moving forward. He had that plan a year ago when he was hired.

I know many in here aren't huge belivers in the Gruden talk but I've been following that thread and there's a lot of smoke out there. Gruden may turn down the job but I have no doubts he's been contacted and is interested. And I think that's what Hubbs is referring to. Hart isn't going to fire CDD w/o a replacement already on the hook and he's certainly not going to replace him with a mediocre hire. I like CDD a lot and I hope we kick Bama and USCjr's asses the next two games but if that doesn't happen...

If Hart replaces cdd after this yr I don't care who the coach is but he better have 9+ wins next season. Honestly i want 10+ but im giving an inch for a last min loss of some sort. Firing cdd for another 3-4 yr rebuild will be unexceptable. If all y'all negavols want to be so impatient y'all better be on here expecting a lot of wins next yr no matter what.

Dooley would get fired after next year anyway, IMO. The schedule is tough.

You hit the nail on the head.

If a change is made, the new coach will be expected to win big immediately. If the new coach does not win at least 9 games in year one or year two, he will be in the same trouble.

UT would push him out the door and would have two buyouts to take care of. Think that Dooley was a cheap hire and remember how tough it was to get someone to take the job? Wait until UT possiby blows through two coaches quickly. Our job would be radioactive to any good coach.

You and chavis can go pleasure each other. Support the the program. The whole thing.

You're funny I'm being negative in what way? I said what do you want him to endorse. I'm not going to lie to myself and say he needs to endorse a coach that hasn't won games he should win. But where have I said fire Dooley? Where have I posted we'll lose Saturday? Oh okay you can go sit down now.

Incorrect. If the guy is Gruden (the only guy we're going after), he'll be given time.

Everyone knows he's a proven commodity. Dooley was not.

Did anyone see the HS kicker on Sportscenter. Austin Rehkow kicked a 67 yd FG in a game. Any news on where he is headed?

Exactly. I'd want Hart gone too if this is the case. I'm a patient guy, but if people are gonna be impatient the replacement better get the f'in job done ASAP!!!

Screw that!! If its Gruden that SOB better bring 9-10 next yr, and the SECC and playoff birth in yr 2. He WILL NOT get any time to prove SH*T from me.

Also, this first yr success bullsh*t ie Hoke at Mich and then a yr 2 drop off won't be tolerated either.

Not at the college level.

This^^^

Okay.

Gruden would IMMEDIATELY bring more interest to UT from recruits, potential assistants, and fans than Dooley has his entire tenure. He's essentially a celebrity now.

He's a tireless worker, when it comes to coaching. It's been said that he wants to recruit, and beat out the best programs in the nation.

His teams won their division 5 times and he has a superbowl ring, IN THE NFL. Jim Mora, Jr. is already doing well at UCLA, and he's had far less success in the NFL. Assuming Gruden wouldn't do well in college is pure ignorance, when he's already had success at the most difficult football league in the world.
