Football team will dedicate Saturday's game to Jay Rogers

I have been following #JaysStory today and I felt moved to do something...I started a twitter feed @JaysWarriors. I have already sent a tweet to Tyler Bray telling him to spread the word to the other Vols to see how many follows we can get overnight. Like I said, I wanted to do something. Hopefully this will get #JaysStory trending!

Been using that Hashtag all night...

May not be a good time to bring this up, but this is the kind of character players Dooley has brought into tn. Everyone is proud to be a vol right now win or lose come Saturday before you start bashing players. Read over this thread the job is getting done on the hill. Jay will love the vols no matter how it turns out. Jay may only have a few days left or may be blessed with many years. If he can be patient with everything going on. Why cant others im a Dooley supporter a true vol fan Win or lose. Point being instead of bad mouthing everyone from the student section to the a.d or praising them after the game. Pick up the phone open your email or go were they are in the house and tell your mom, dad, sister, brother, grandparents, aunts, uncles or someone else that has changed your life you love them and appreciate some memory they have made for you. There more to life then football you are not guaranteed your next breath of air. There a good chance they will be another football game to watch.

also puts into perspective that no matter what type of a poster someone is here (I mean really...there are some people in this thread that do not get along at all) yall are truly a bunch of good people who want to do what is right in life. I salute all of you for that.

It would be cool if the team could have "J" stickers on their helmets or something. Seems like the players would support it. This just goes to show there is more to life than just football.

Absolutely but it should also show that even in something as small as a football game, one can appreciate what they have been given in life. We are all blessed just to be here.

Please don't turn this into a thread about coaches and true fans. Go Vols and God bless Jay. This kid is an amazing example of strength and dignity. The second half of your post is the proper perspective.

I just now finished reading this remarkable thread. Jay's story is one of both an amazing strength and a very uncommon lack of self pity to be found in one so young. I thank God for sharing him with us. God is great.

Jay, I am truly proud to embrace you as a fellow Vol fan. We have a lot of things in common in that we both love the Vols and support them to the end of every game. I hope that you understand how much your fellow Vol fans and the team itself love and support you in your illness.

May the Lord bless you and keep you and watch over you at all times.

Justin Hunter posted :

Jay,
This Saturday we will play Alabama, the #1 ranked team in the nation. We have voted as a team to dedicate this game to you. Also, former head Coach Fulmer and players from the 1997 SEC Champion and eventual National Champion Tennessee Volunteers will be recognized. Jay, know that we will continue to pray for you and ask God to lift you up. You will always be a VFL, a VOL FOR LIFE.

#11
