So we've played teams that are combined 17-1 real close and improved on our mistakes game after game.. By the next 2 weeks we'd have played teams that are combined 31-4. Talk about a rough schedule!

That's how close we are and can't say the same over the last couple years!

Couldnt be happier for Zro, the kid has made some great catches this year unlike years past.

It has not been talked about enough, but Zach Rogers is having a great year. He is making all the plays asked of him. ZRo has def changed fans perspective on him. I think he has more confidence, he has made 2-3 really nice catches and last year those would have been drops. I watched him throughout high school, and its great to see him succeeding.

If the O-Line plays the way they have been playing the past few games, it is a good a match up against any D-Line in the country. The improvement in the O-Line and our RBs has been little short of spectacular and we should be very proud of both the players and their coaches.

Regardless of the ultimate outcome of the head coaching debate, we need to do whatever is necessary to retain both coach Sam Pittman and coach Jay Graham, including a raise for each at the end of the season as incentive pay rewarding a job well done -- any time we have identified a coach who has done his job that well, it is no time to be pinching pennies or hiding behind a contract clause. Perhaps word of that attitude will get around and help us when we go to hire top tier assistants in the future.

Family in Arkansas think Butch Davis has a shot at ARK job. If that happens Dooley may be forced to do something if he wants to keep them.
If Hart decides to go in a different direction - sucks for Coach Pittman & Coach Graham along with all the others for that matter - but new
Head will clean house & bring in his own guys. Which is why I hope Vols close out strong because hate to see team have to start over yet again.

Swan Man broke some silence on Vq today about Dooley and the future. He is more trusted than Hubbs on VQ.

Dooley will get you there talent wise. However, he will do it a little different from a recruiting standpoint...meaning it will take him much longer, as he recruits character, academia ETC...he must have players that have been in the program 3-4 years.. so to speak. He wont pour hot sauce on em, so if your looking for a top 1-3 class, it likely wont happen. He will do it through 5-6 years of consistent classes, with the occasional top 5. Saban did it differently at BAMA, but few can. Remeber, many wanted SABAN gone at MSU, as Michigan kicked his ass in recruiting.. so he learned as he went to some degree, as is Dooley.

Bottom line 10 people could make Arguments both against and for Dooley and you could easily convince me either way. He really needs a big win, cause I DO THINK HE WILL BE A GOOD COACH FOR US... LONG-TERM...hence the LONG -TERM part ...lol

I do know HART would like DOOLEY to suceed, but Dooley is giving him little Ammunition. If Hart decides not to keep Dooley, look for Gruden or Smart to get big contract opportunities.....Not saying either Accepts though, which only complicates the issue.

If both BAMA and SC WAX our Butts, I might change my opinion, but for now, I want DEREK to make it. Dave Hart is in a VERY, VERY, VERY, tough position...believe me.

He also said Gruden was offered the job before, but no one was touching this roster. A Gruden contract wouldn't be less than 5 mil and he has been told Gruden would strongly listen if offered.

Rucker said that Gruden would've taken the offer at 5 mil last time. This job is so much better now than it was then. Credit to Dooley. He might save us a couple mil for Gruden.

I just watched Dooley's presser and WOW, 6 games into the season and we are still messing up pre-snap alignments on defense.

You have got to be kidding me.

I highly doubt swan man on Gruden. When someone posts a quote from a reputable media source at ESPN, CBS or some other similar venue saying Jon Gruden is in talks with Tennessee, I'll believe it.

My guess is still Kirby Smart or another up and comer if Dooley is fired.

i have decided to focus on the positive b/c it just sucks being negative all the time

and you are completely right - Zro has done what seniors are supposed to do - step up and make big plays for their team in key spots - really happy for him to go out like this

I'm tired of all of this negativity that's going on. These negative people need to respect Dooley. He puts in many hours, heart and soul into coaching, trying to develop these young men on and off the field. Many of them won't turn pro, so they have to fall back on their education. So far it seems he has run a pretty clean program.

People don't think being negative effects the players and program, but when players and coaches start getting asked questions about it and players hold meetings about it, it does. It provides and extra distraction they have to overcome. Everybody starts speculating about the future and what will happen and whether they will stay or go.

I don't like the current names being thrown around to replace Dooley. Gruden did win a super bowl, but has not been a college head coach, winning % of about 53%, which in the NFL is... mediocre, something I've heard alot about lately . Kirby Smart is another unproven head coach.

Fans just need to calm down and support the team and enjoy the rest of the season. We could still go 9-3 this season. That's what kills me. We could finish 9-3, a bowl win would be 10-3. This is a very slim chance, but it's still possible. That's why they play every Saturday. If we start speculating, let's just shut down college football and give Nick Saban a championship until he leaves, and then we can start playing again. Sorry for the long post, I had to vent.
