You call me an idiot...You tell people to ignore me and you say this is not a rumor anymore, LOL.
You're an admitted Grudenite so please post a link that PROVES that Gruden is our next football Head Coach please.
The ONLY thing we've heard on this thread is that IF things go right then CDD will not be here next season and that calls are being made.
I've also seen several people say that SBV is a credible person so I believe he is but he was misled before by someone and that could be the case this time as well.
I tend to believe SBV when he says calls are being made and that the days of CDD may be numbered.
I can also believe that the loss Saturday night just might have pushed some of the big $$$ donors over the line and they're ready to make some big donations IF the right coach can be hired at the right price.
I also do NOT believe that Gruden will quit a BIG $$$ job that's fun, very easy and that he says he loves to come to Tennessee to work his butt off and try to beg 17 year old kids to come to Tennessee to play football for him especially since I heard a rumor that he recently just signed a new 5 year contract with his current employer.
Now it's time for YOU to pony up and PROVE with a solid link to any news story where Gruden just quit a very easy job and is considering coaching a college team.
It's also doubtful that many here on VN consider me to be a total idiot my friend and if anyone ignores me just because you demand that they do so then I'd have to wonder about their intelligence.
I'll be waiting for your link to PROVE that you actually know anything at all.
You ARE pretty good at starting or keeping rumors going though so I give you credit for that, LOL!
VFL...GBO!!!
The biggest problem I see with your scenario is that demoting CDD from HC to a position coach with duties as RC, would probably break his current contract and require UT to pay the buy out. So, we'd pay him his lower salary plus the buy out and pay Saban Texas money to move.
Dooley is here to stay. get over it.
Saben doesn't have a buyout. He can leave for whatever reason with no penalty. Insiders probably know this. Here's the real info so TIFWIW...
SBV said it's somebody that isn't currently coaching but that's a FALSE lead to keep us off track.
We all know that Nick Saban is a total ego maniac but he's also the best recruiter/Coach in college football and he does NOT want to coach in the NFL again.
What Saban really wants is to be the ONLY coach in NCAA history to win 3 National Championships at 3 different colleges and he wants to accomplish that in the SEC because the SEC is the toughest conference in the country and where he's won his other NC rings.
Saban also loves CDD and CSS so he wants to keep both of them on his new coaching staff when he comes to Tennessee after this season is over.
Keeping them both on his staff makes it easier for him to hire other coaches and it keeps Tennessee from such a huge buyout on both CDD and CSS and CSS will stay the DC since Saban runs the D himself anyway and CSS already knows everything about how Saban wants the D to run.
CDD will be the Recruiting Coordinator just like he was for Saban at LSU when they won the National Championship together.
The money saved from the big buyouts plus the big donors money will buyout Sabans contract at alaBubba and allow Saban to hire whoever else he wants on his coaching staff and pay them whatever it takes to hire them.
Saban likes the players CDD has already recruited and thinks he can win another National Championship at Tennessee in 3 years and by then Saban will be just under 70 years old and ready to retire in the hills of Tennessee near a lake with good fishing like he likes.
With a 3rd NC and at 3 different SEC schools Saban will be well satisfied that he'll go down in history as the greatest college football coach ever, even better than Bear Bryant, and that's what his ego demands.
This is too logical to overlook and it's all rumor and speculation so again...TIFWIW.
VFL...GBO!!!
No idea. But I think the media heat on Dooley goes through the roof starting this week. Speculation will be a part of that heat.
Hart has probably put out feelers.
I think, and this is just me, that Dooley lost his job last night. The UF game was the sign that nothing had changed; UGA was "close but not close enough"; and last night was the final straw. I don't think Hart feels like he needs to wait and see how we do against Bama and USCe. Dooley would need to win both of those, or go 5-1 down the stretch, to save his job, and Hart don't need Ms. Cleo to tell him how that's gonna play out.
The only way Dooley survives is a 5-1 stretch run, which isn't going to happen; or Hart cannot lock up his 1st or 2nd choice for a new HC. Hart knows the next guy has to be...absolutely has to be...a solid winner. So I think he has a very short list, of very good coaches. They're going to want the big money, and more big money so they can bring in a top-flight staff. That's the show-stopper right there: money. Truckloads of it.
If Hart can find the money, and his #1 or #2 guy says "yes", Dooley is gone. Plain and simple.
I think Hart can pull it off, and will.
Go Vols.
Saben doesn't have a buyout. He can leave for whatever reason with no penalty. Insiders probably know this.
That's excellent information but I'll never be a alaBubba insider, LOL.
That makes it even easier for Saban to come to Tennessee to win his 3rd National championship at his 3rd college.
At least my rumor is more fun and would mean winning lots faster than the Grudenites thinking he'll quit a easy job for more $$$ than what Tennessee would pay him.
VFL...GBO!!!
I don't understand why you would let Dooley stay until the end of the season? Let him go now and start lining up guys for interviews. Make it known that we're doing it right this time.
That's crazy.
Seems like an unfair advantage. lol
What lesson I have learned over the years is that we are The University Of Tennessee, and we deserve better than what we are getting. We used to be feared, we used to beat opposing teams down, and we used to be relevant. Now we are becoming the question mark of the SEC. What happened to Tennessee? We must do something.....
The only reason not to make it public right now is for the team's sake. Remember the fiasco of Hamilton's handling of Fulmer in '08? Unlike OSU's NCAA rules violations issues with Tressel, UT's problems with CDD is that his team is not only being outplayed, the team SOMETIMES shows signs of quitting when they get behind, and CDD is consistently out-coached. Let's face it, our problem with CDD is not ethics based, but ability based... so, make a private agreement with the next coach, and make it public after the KY game. To make it public now would not only hurt the team, but also potentially hurt recruiting efforts.
