No idea. But I think the media heat on Dooley goes through the roof starting this week. Speculation will be a part of that heat.

Hart has probably put out feelers.

I think, and this is just me, that Dooley lost his job last night. The UF game was the sign that nothing had changed; UGA was "close but not close enough"; and last night was the final straw. I don't think Hart feels like he needs to wait and see how we do against Bama and USCe. Dooley would need to win both of those, or go 5-1 down the stretch, to save his job, and Hart don't need Ms. Cleo to tell him how that's gonna play out.

The only way Dooley survives is a 5-1 stretch run, which isn't going to happen; or Hart cannot lock up his 1st or 2nd choice for a new HC. Hart knows the next guy has to be...absolutely has to be...a solid winner. So I think he has a very short list, of very good coaches. They're going to want the big money, and more big money so they can bring in a top-flight staff. That's the show-stopper right there: money. Truckloads of it.

If Hart can find the money, and his #1 or #2 guy says "yes", Dooley is gone. Plain and simple.

I think Hart can pull it off, and will.

Go Vols.

Good words

Random question...

If a coach gets fired mid-season and you let an assistant finish out the season as the coach. Could you hire the head coach of the future and let him start recruiting?

I'm guessing the obvious answer is no. lol

Pretty bad when you're canned the week of your team's biggest rivalry game.

Saban's salivating.

Last night was the straw that broke my back. I just cant take this pitiful display of Football anymore

I awoke from my Koolaid Koma

The Florida game did it for me. After a glimmer of hope after the UGA game I'm completely done with Dooley now. Not even a win vs. Bama (which isn't happening anyway) would revive my faith in him...

Urban Meyer did at OSU. IIRC

He was recruiting and putting a staff together while the other staff was finishing up.

I don't understand why you would let Dooley stay until the end of the season? Let him go now and start lining up guys for interviews. Make it known that we're doing it right this time.

I understand where you are comming from. But how does this team watch a kick off and not do anything while Miss St falls on the ball. We were down by 6 points at that time with a chance to take the lead. The fall on the ball and then score later on that short drive to go up by 13.:banghead2:

Someone mentioned that Chris Low made the statement on The Nation that Hart has already sent
out feelers to see which coaches would be interested

At this point, dont know if true, so dont shoot thr messenger

Did the news come out before or after the 6 pm meeting?

I'm pretty sure that happened last year with Urban Meyer... I'd say that's a possibility..

I honestly think that's what we need to happen. Completely different situations however- unless it is a guy not currently coaching

There looks to be a few programs that will be right there with us looking for a coach... If they're going to do it. I can't see them waiting until the end of the year.. End up with our 5th or 6th choice again..
