3 biggest plays that effected the outcome:
-Byron Moore dropping a INT that was gift wrapped
-Rivera not coming up to catch a kickoff
-Young getting stripped
I really have no idea how you can blame those on coaching.
except those aren't the facts.
The facts are:
We are more talented than them (on paper) at every position save corner and our defense made Tyler Russell - an average SEC QB - look like an All-American
Nice reasoning. The football forum is that way,:jpshakehead:
their Safeties are non-existent and they played 25 yards deep. they had no bearing in the run game or the short passing game.
but even if you say that, ok, thats 4 players out of 11 who had a distinct advantage.
coloring this as a "not bad guys" performance is ridiculous
You can keep your "striving for mediocrity" attitude
good one. :good!:
If you think losing is acceptable because we were on the road in a hostile environment against a ranked team then you have clearly don't spend any time in this forum.
Tennessee was by far the more talented team last night, except for one position.
What do you usually call it when the more talented team loses to the less talented team? I call it being out-coached, which is exactly what we were last night from kickoff to final whistle.
When they are distinctly better in 4 of 11.
and then the other 7 we are about the same, that makes it a big deal.
Our D is whats keeping us from winning 2 games vs UGA&Miss ST.
We cannot cover 1o1 in secondary and cannot tackle in secondary.
Have fun winning any big games with that problem.
Dooley doesn't like it when you talk about winning big games. He's still trying to get over the hump before he hits 0-25 against ranked opponents. It's alright though because his teams have tons of scars that he tells me are important. Water that bamboo Dooley.
I love our team, love our players, but it's SO frustrating to see other coaches prepare their teams so much better than ours, make adjustments quicker, and exploit our weaknesses.
MSU had a great game plan out of the gate, and their players seemed so much more mentally prepared to execute and grab the win from us. They begged us to beat them with our run game, and we just couldn't do it. Bray had a pedestrian night and our top 2 rb's went down. I'm upset we didn't get CP, MR, or even BB involved in the game more.
Over the past few years, I've had a tough time watching UT get passed by USCe (still hard to wrap my mind around), but now we're getting passed by MSU! I'm afraid we're officially becoming bottom-dwellers, and that's just unacceptable to me.
We have a chance to win the game on what couldve been the final drive and our 3rd string RB fumbles. We were in position to win. If we lose this game like the FL game then I will give you out coached. but its just not logical to say that we were Totally outcoached. maybe a at some aspects but not totally
Sigh.
Stuff like that is what makes the FF unbearable.
Criticism is fine. Snarky, entitled BS is just misery.
You are trying to blame the entire loss on one DY fumble, while conveniently forgetting what happened on Miss St's first five possessions. Those first five possessions coming after Tennessee's defense had 2 whole weeks to prepare for everything they were going to do. On those first five possessions, Miss St was successful because they simply outschemed Tennessee by using confusing pre-snap motion that put our players out of position and a step behind - NOT by pounding it over our defensive athletes with strength/athleticism/speed. This, by definition, is getting out coached.
at this point, they have every right to.
same problems every week for 3 years. No one should be happy with the direction this program is and has been headed
Watched the CDD show again this morning. I was as disappointed as most were last night but there is no doubt that this team is better than the previous two teams under CDD.
We are 3-3 with 3 losses to good SEC teams that have a combined 1 loss. We have been in position to win all of those games and have just came up short each game. Much different than when we hardly competed at the SEC level the previous years. I want to see results and a wins just like most fans and there should be no excuses as to why we aren't getting them. However I don't think firing the head coach and cleaning the staff out is the answer yet. This team has 6 games left with a possible bowl game to be played and we can finish with 7 or 8 wins IMO obviously not the record that I thought we would have at the end of the year. I will support whoever is the coach of UT. I know some of you will disagree but again these are just my thoughts. Bash away.
