'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

I pretty sure you liked seeing C.Jones run that kick back. :)

Minor alum all day. :salute:

C Jones is one of our best weapons on the team. He is capable of running it back every time. He may not be as fast as some returners but he more physical and can break tackels unlike some of the little fast guys.

I never said he was a better back. I said he was on their level. You said they were head and shoulders above him. I disagree. I think he just a different type of back. :salute:

I never said they were head and shoulders better. I just think they are better overall backs when u break it down. I agree he is a different type of back

Well you know we like two different type of backs. I love big play guys. Tyren Jones is the only one out of the three that combines both styles well of running well. Kamara does run with a lot of pop for a speedy/slasher type of back.

Taylor is good though but I do like backs like Andre Ellington more than a Marcus Lattimore type. That's just me.

Yeah I lean more to the combo type backs. The Richardson and Jones types that have enough speed to break off the long runs but can also take the pounding and get me tough yards and wear down a defense. You know I love Rock Thomas also who is similar to Kamara but runs with a little bit more power.

Jones and Richardson types cover all areas of play. Rock Thomas is my favorite back in 2014 period. Kamara, T.Dye, and R.Green(FSU commit) are my favorite in this class. I really do like T.Jones and D.Green though so don't think I'm slighting them. Those other three just are my favorites in this class.

This time last year, the only back most on here wanted was keyante green.. A lot will change before next recruiting cycle.. Helll, a lot will change before this signing day..

Thomas and Scarborough are my favorites and you pretty much know the reasons why. Its hard to put anyone over Fournette at the moment though. The kid is a monster.

I can see why those 3 are your favorites backs. They are all very versatile. Dye is pretty strong and can get the tough yards which makes him even more of a threat.

Geez, how many running backs does bama need? TJY not working out too well? Quote from Tidesports story.

"Johnathan Ford, three-star running back and Vanderbilt commitment from New Hope High School in Ala., started hearing from the University of Alabama last week. The new interest from the Crimson Tide has the talented in-state prospect excited."

They will keep in contact, just like most programs, with a few backs just in case someone decommits. Always a possibility for that.

I see the sarcasm but TJY is working out well, averaging 6 ypc. He hasnt been asked to do much yet. Keeping him fresh for the stretch run.

How is Grant doing?

No disrespect intended. I had just read on a UA board a short while ago that he wasn't getting as much playing time because he was getting a big head over his press after the first couple of games. If that is the case, Saban rightfully cooled TJY's jets. Among other things, that was one of Dyer's issues after being named MVP in championship game.

Carefule not to feed. He bumped a thread 4 days old to make a snide comment about UA regarding one player in a completely different thread about another player.

Regarding Kamara said he will take 4 OVs(UGA, UA, Oregon, USC) and the 5th would be to wherever. That it is down to UGA and UA.

“Derrick and I are real cool,” Kamara said. “I told him congrats and he told me, ‘It is your turn now.’ He wasn’t saying it was my turn to go to Bama but just my turn to pull the trigger. With Derrick committing to Bama, that doesn’t really faze my decision. Competition is everywhere so if I did end up going to Bama, it would be a great competition between me, Derrick, Tyren [Jones] (Marietta, Ga./Walton) and Altee [Tenpenny] (North Little Rock, Ark./North Little Rock).

Doubt they all really feel that way and still thinks he ends up at UGA. Interesting though with no current RB commits he has not already committed. Looks to make decision after season.

In regards to Ford he clearly stated that UA is recruiting himas an athlete not a RB. He also stated that UA has not offered him a scholarship at this time. But either way having a great season.

Do you bammernecks always run in packs? Is it just vols and aubs boards you invade or does the host of the most entitled, insufferable assembly of sidewalk fans appear everywhere?

Anyone that follows CFB, especially living in the south and/or a SEC fan can recoginize that the majority of AU fans possess an inferiority complex regarding UA. I will not attempt to disect the reasoning behind it even if well founded because it seems to be so deeply rooted.

But what I find interesting since I follow recruiting and post on several rival boards in an attempt to share and gain information on recruits is there are always rival posters that represent schools like UT, UGA, and UF. For the most part none of them troll and every now and then some level of diatribe takes place with no major issues. But what amazes me is there is always some AU fan that will post that will try their hardest to troll by bumping threads or whatever with an attempt to attack UA even when UA is not involved in the current conversation with the hope of gaining some ecred and making themselves feel superior over UA. Why this always happens not really sure, because I have run across some really good AU posters on UA boards, but I guess it is expected nowadays.

Again I only find it humerous and take no offense to it but please in your simple efforts to accomplish whatever it is you refrain from the name calling and attempt to attack the UA posters. One, name calling is against the rules of the board and two, no need for it on a UT recruting board.:hi:

TW-if you don't mind sharing, what boards do you use? I would like to read on some rival boards that are free, but the ones I have seen are usually difficult to navigate and don't have good mobile sites. Can u help? I guess I am spoiled at how great VN is.

It goes both ways and I can list the same from the UA end like the ones you use when referring to UA. The issue is why bring it here to a UT board or other rival boards. I have yet to see that here from the few UA posters.:toast:

And BTW unless I am mistaking the Plains are Burning is by Blue Tuna Tiger, an LSU fan. Atleast give credit where credit is do because it was if nothing else funny, even though it had no value or truth to it.:hi:

Besides VN I would recommend

CockyTalk USC board is really good for recruiting info and they have several rival posters on there.

The Houndztooth a new UA board and is loaded with recruiting info. Alot of rival posters including AU on there and may have the most female SEC fans I have seen on one board that hang out in the off-topic section.

TheRinger is also very good and a collection of multiple fans from mostly SEC and ACC post there along with a few ND fans. Alot of recruiting info with good write-ups.

All 3 are very easy to navigate and usually are up to date on most recruiting info. They are some others but have to filter through to find info like TD and MB.

One more Tigernet(Clemson board) has some good info and UT seems to be targeting a lot of the same recruits. But be careful they are not the friendliest bunch. I usuauly browse and very seldom post but good info.

Vol Nation service announcement:

To the AU/UA spat going on......

“One of you turds is ‘bout to get smacked in the mouth.”.....if you don't simmer down.:)

That it all.

I dont go to AU boards at all. Nothing to see there. Trees are not an interesting topic.

To be honest I have never hated AU, I kind of feel sorry for the kids there right now. Talented kids that are getting undercoached and never reach there potential.
