The Runner's thread

somehow the race turned out being 13.6 miles instead of 13.1, but whatevs! Finished in 2 hours, 20 min, supposedly good enough for 84th (no clue how many were there though). Not sure about all trail races, but this half was extremely harder than any road half I've ever done. There were roots, leaves and limbs everywhere, not too mention how treacherous the hills were. One of the most intense runs of my life. Can't wait for another one (just not for a little while haha). I recommend it to anyone.

Nice work. Sounds like a good race.

Congrats on finishing the race and congrats on your time bill. :good!:

Atta boy Bill!

thanks everyone. This trail route was a trip. Never expected those kinds of obstacles and elevation changes. I'm much more sore this afternoon than I've ever been after a long race. Next challenge is to step all the way up to a full marathon, but most definitely on the road! Aiming for March at the Shamrock Marathon in VA Beach.

Got 2.4 in with my dog today. This new neighborhood I'm running in has some beastly hills. The biggest one is 80 ft in about 0.3 miles. Felt good though.

My neighborhood has a lot of hills in it to. Does anyone know of an app that I can turn on while I run and it will tell you your height according to sea level?

The run keeper app will give you total elevation. Not sure if that's what you are looking for or not.

I don't know if you can see it in MapMyRun in real time, but you can look at your run after you finish and see the elevation chart.
