That will not happen and I would make a bet on DD finishing the season as HC at UT.

The announcement likely will come after the USCe game. That is when we historically let our failing coaches go.

He may finish out the year, but more than likely we'll see an interim coach.

He's the first person in nearly 7 years on the forum that I've put on ignore. I hate doing that, and typically am critical of those that do. After multiple duplicate posts I realized not trying to affect the debate, but trying to curtail it.

He's my first as well. It took a couple days to decide, cause I don't like to either.

Im less willing to bet on whether he' d finish the season than I would be to say he' ll be back after a 7-5 finish with a blowout loss to Bama

His prior record has everything to do with how qualified he is to run this program. It's a sliding scale between the WAC and SEC, I understand that. But a lack of success at one, and a pattern of similar recurring onfield difficulties, may be indicative of a low ceiling of performance.

We'll all know at the end if October. There will be many more believers at that time. It takes some people longer to believe what they see.

You'll come around.

I have said for a long time that I will reserve my judgement on DD till after year 3 based on what he inherited, that has not changed.

It will be a cold day in hell if I ever become a Grudenite, I can assure you of that. Gruden carries to many unknowns and has not shown me anything that he could be a successful HC. I think he would be Bill Battle 2.0 in the fact he could win with other coaches players but once his players hit the field it would be a horrific and boring game to watch.

So mainly the reason you are here is to bash Gruden and not talk about CDD's tenure as coach.

I can handle that. And I can handle the wait and see approach. But to say he should or will get another year at this point is crazy, unless he wins some games of significance.

Bill Battle atleast had more than 7 wins in a year.

Personally, I think the decision is already made. We can all argue that point, and nobody will change their minds....but that is how I feel.

If not, 0 for 3 in October will seal the deal. There is no way he survives 3 years of beat downs by our divisional and traditional rivals.

This slide we are experiencing is having a terrible effect on our traditional position in the SEC and college football as a whole. It will take DECADES to repair our record. We've got to get started fixing the damage now.

Name a team that Bama has not whipped up on this year? If that is the deciding factor then every school that plays Bama would be looking for a new coach. Bama is ranked #1 for a reason, they are solid on both sides of the ball. I seriously doubt that Hart would even think in these terms, Hart is fully aware of where our roster currently is and he is aware of the challenges involved this season.

Gman, these are the very reason I think we need a change at HC.

I'm not hear to convince you about Gruden. We can all have an opinion on the answer to the replacement question.

That being said, I find it interesting that the people who claim that he only won with someone else's players at TB, refuse to give him credit for building the team that he faced in the Super Bowl. Shouldn't that cut both ways?

My guy says he's solid with Hart for one more year.
I guessing Hart expects to beat certain teams. It would blow my mind if he stays only winning 7.

If you've read any of my posts you know I have zero confidence in the UT administration to get this right.

While you may be repetative, you don't actually copy and paste the exact hateful diatribe over and over.

The only issue I have ever had with you is changing a post of mine to fit your agenda.

We're good.

Bill Battle atleast had more than 7 wins in a year.

Last 3 years of Battle
1974 - 7-3-2/ 2-3-1 in the SEC
1975 - 7-5/ 3-3 in the SEC
1976 - 6-5/2-4 in the SEC

His last 3 recruiting classes were horrible and when Majors took over in 1977 we went:

1977 - 4-7/1-5 in the SEC
1978 - 5-5-1/3-3 in the SEC
1979 - 7-5/3-3 in the SEC
1980 - 5-6/3-3 in the SEC

It is not like some of us older fans have not been thru this before and as I have stated numerous times the SEC was no where near the level of competition then as it is now.

Like Jay said, I have no one on ignore.

And its okay if you have a source that says that. I can take that.

But We've heard from others that have sources that say otherwise.

No way to know for sure but I'm willing to bet that if the boosters have a say, he won't be here.

From the time Al Davis was the owner he always had the final call as to who was drafted and very seldom did he ever consult with his coaches. Al was the boss and he did things the way he saw fit.

On this we are in complete agreement, which is why we need a serious upgrade in leadership for our football program. The SEC passed UT by during the last 5-7 years of Fulmers tenure. We bungled the hire and failed to upgrade when we replaced him. We cant afford to do it again.
