Not all will see the light, you are correct.

Like I said, we can't all be right. I can see where keeping CDD will hurt us much more than getting rid of him. Obviously my opinion, but many will agree.

Many are starting to see the light, that CDD is not the answer. They just disagree on who should succeed him.

You will come around soon enough. :)

That an excellent, well stated opinion but I have to disagree and here's why...

Matt was a California guy and a playboy type and he had basically a NFL team all around him but we now know there was some cheating going on to get some of those players.

Matt didn't seem to be a real student of the game and want to work to become a really good NFL QB.

Since you're also a Vols fan I'll assume that you saw alot of Jay Cutler as I did and we'll agree that he never had a good O line to protect him and in the SEC we're known for good D teams alot more than most other conferences.

Cutler was always running for his life and I'm amazed that he never got hurt badly but he's a very tough guy physically and mentally.

Running for his life all the time actually helped him because he learned well how to run faster and still throw good passes.

Cutler has a cannon for a arm and given just a little time he'll hit his targets and can make all the throws and he's a smart guy so learning a new O and the terminology isn't a really tough task for him.

Shannahan is a very good friend of Jeff Fisher and if you remember was coaching Denver at the time.

When he called fisher to ask about Cutler Jeff told him he would take him if Bud Adams hadn't order everyone to take Vince young and he would even move up in the draft to make sure he got Cutler if he was Shannahan.

Obviously Denver took Cutler and their O started to take off pretty well but their D was horrid and shannahan got fired before he could finish working on the D side of the ball which we all know now was a huge mistake by the Denver owner.

We all make mistakes though but I think if Da Bears get it all together that Cutler still has the time to win a superbowl or 2 before he retires.

They sure looked good against Dallas last night.

Didn't directly respond to Titan&VolFan, but I've decided to forget about it b/c my point was made.
No tracking them down,got better things to do with my time.:)

Let me make something else clear...

I believe that going into every thread and making many more threads for the sole purposes of bashing CDD and annoying other good Vols fans is idiotic.

I also believe that firing a coach that Nick Saban picked as his assistant HEAD coach and trained for 7 years when he's only 1/2 way through a 4 year rebuilding process is also idiotic.

Normally when people talk or act like a idiot I'll call them a idiot but if my saying that has upset anyone then I'm sorry I made you feel bad.

I also believe that you people are hurting our recruiting process and could cause us to lose some really good players that CDD and staff have worked very hard to try and get to come play for Tennessee and we need all the really good players we can get in every recruiting class.

I agree. It's just as annoying and idiotic as all the other threads pumping sunshine no matter what. The glass can be either half full or half empty depending on your perspective.

Being an assitant HC (especially under Saban) means absolutely nothing to me. It's no secret Saban does things his way, meaning all coaches and players fall in line. Besides, that equating to Dooley being a good HC is comparable to saying his last name does the same.

There's no need to apologize. This is a message board. We're all entitled to our opinions and thoughts and as previously said, if you're bent out of shape over something said on a message board then you have bigger issues.

I disagree/agree. If players are making their decisions based on what "fans" are saying on a message board instead of the education, coaches, program, etc that's a problem. I agree that CDD and staff are working hard and that we need all the good players we can get.

I know I'm late but I question whether he would come here. I'd love to have him but I think there might be other jobs he'd want more.
