I dont think anyone is taking this as a moral victory. I think we all got a dose of reality against Florida. We played a pretty good game against NCSt, and most of us thought we were better than we actually were, also thought Florida was worse than they actually were...and truth is, we have talent, we have a little more quality depth, but we are still not where we want to be and we had hoped that after 3 years we would be competing for the SEC Championship, which can happen when you have a coach like Saban, reality is, there are not many Sabans...and reality is 3 years ago the UT job was a total rebuild from the bottom up...like it or not, that is the truth. Reality is even if Saban, or Gruden or whomever had taken this job 3 years ago, it would have taken time. Could they have done it quicker? Probably so, but it is what it is right now. Noone is happy about losing, i think we can all agree on that, but you have to ask yourself...did we improve last year from the year before? have we improved this year from last year? Yes. Remember this, there has been more inconsistency at UT in the last 5 years than the previous 30 years prior. This season we have completely changed our defense...and unfortunately that takes time too. Im not saying "accept mediocrity" or "be happy with a moral vistory"..no, be mad and disappointed, we all are, but be glad that today it seemed our team fought till the end, be glad that it looked like some of these guys grew up a little today, be glad that we went toe to toe with the #5 team and had more than one chance to win this game...there is alot of positive for those that choose to look for it...and plenty of negativity too...the kicking game for one. But lets see how they respond now. We should beat Miss St, should beat Mizz...and from the looks of things we should beat USC....lets see how the next 4 weeks play out. I certainly feel better now than i did this time yesterday.
