The best and worst field goal kicker in TN history

I'll take Fuad in a heartbeat. Hell, I'd take Fuad cut in half over the kicking performances we've seen over the last several years. I will never forgive Daniel Lincoln for single handily losing the game vs Bama because he couldn't figure out how to get the ball higher than 3 feet in the air.

Specify how the cut is made and which half.
Split in half, from head to toe could work assuming you used the side he kicks with.

But cut from hip to hip wouldn't be very useful if you didn't use the lower half. :p

I'd say Fund Reveiz, but he had also the benefit of kicking FGs with a tee.

As far as worst, statistically he was OK but Greg Burke choked mightily on some big kicks.

jb was money and i believe he still holds the record for most p.a.t.s in a row. part of that is because his teams were high flying offensively. that, and he never missed.

burke in the late 80s/early 90s had some costly misses. one of my least favorites.

I always liked John Becksvoort. Very dependable kicker

My favorite two kickers of all time would have to be Fuad Reveiz and Jeff Hall. What clutch kickers and Hall was so respected by his team that he was a captain on the 98 NT team. Now the worst kicker that has ever put on the Tennessee uniform is hands down Daniel Lincoln. Honestly how many games did this kid cost us in his career. He missed two field goals against LSU in 2007 that were chip shots. He missed the field goal against UCLA in 2008 in overtime. He missed three field goals against Bama in 2009 to cost us the game. He misses an extra point against UNC that would have won us the game. I think I could go on in on but you get the point.

I'd give my left nut to have Jeff Hall back.

Carlos Reveiz: 34/47, 72.3%
Fuad Reveiz - 71/95, 74.7%

I'll take Fuad and Walls over anyone else. Hall's statistically the worst, but he's arguably the most clutch of any on this list.

All things considered, Lincoln is at the bottom imo. He did do a nice job of redeeming himself until the MCB XP (although ultimately I still blame incompetent refs for that game).

People forget about Walls. He was a dang good kicker.

Walls couldn't nail it from 50+ but he was damn accurate inside of that. He just happened to come after Hall and before Wilhoit. Hall was a captain and Wilhoit was a HS AA.

Walls nailed a 51-yarder in the Georgia Dome in the 2nd quarter of the SEC Championship Game vs. LSU in 2001.

(This happened after we stopped them on an idiotic decision to go for it on 4th & short deep in their own territory. We took that opportunity, went backwards on a short field, and hit a long field goal. At 17-7, LSU was still in the game. 21-7 might have been a greater mental hurdle to overcome. Bygones.)

There have been too many really good ones to pick a best.

It is easy, however, to pick Palardy as the rock bottom worst. He would be terrible on a D-III team.

Fuad Reveiz kicked more field goals than anyone in Vol history, but Hall scored more points.

I met and had lunch with Jeff, here in Winchester, last summer. Very nice and approachable guy.

I remember regretting not asking him for an autograph. Days later, he then sent me a signed picture of his GW against Florida in 98.

He sent with a letter: "It was nice meeting you and talking Football! Finish that business degree! God bless and Go Vols!"

Just a cool story bro and slight brag.

You're right...he did make a 51 yarder in the dome. Forgot about that. :good!:

Hall kicked arguably the most clutch field goals for UT, game winners at Syracuse and against UF
