'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

I was pickin at an AU coworker that we was going to take GREEN and he says no way. Says he says the same thing about AU as he says about UT. What do you guys think? Do we pull him or not? I think we do personally

If Henry commits, no. If Henry goes to Bama, yes. JMO

Auburn has a 4star RB already committed. Michigan and VT also have RB's committed. Why would a RB commit scare off Green to UT but not to those other schools?

Because the other back is another big bruising high profile guy.. Pretty much same style of runner... U never know though..

I wish we would sell that after bray leaves we are going to cut down on the passing and become more balenced and give them the whole: we have to run the ball to win in the sec speech. It's the truth.

but both don't commited unless we start running the ball a lot more, or get a new OC.

Oh, you didn't know?

Every recruit in America would rather play for a guy who has a career losing record as opposed to a Super Bowl winning, former Nfl coach.

C'mon bro. Get with it. Hop on the Dooley truck. Not many seats left.

Edit--this is not the appropriate place. Please disregard my comment and continue with Mr. Green. My apologies.

I think Henry and Green should get together and decide to be a tag team at UT. Our offense would be scary as hell with these two hosses. They can beat some defenses up.

They have yet to play a down of college ball. Yes they can beat up high school defenses. SEC defenses......to be determined.

Atleast they have the measurables to... That's definitely a start.

Oh yeah they definitely have those. I'm not doubting their ability but you know what happened the last time we put all our eggs in one basket with Bryce Brown...he turned out to be a bust. I think Derrick Green is our back. I really believe he will be a Vol on signing day.

Brown had skill, but was a headcase.. I think he could've done big things here.. Even though Richardson clearly should've been the #1 back out of highschool.. The derricks seem to be much more level headed.. Hopefully one of them jumps on board.

Only way I don't see Green as a Vol in the end is if our coaching staff, or certain parts of it get fired.. It just makes too much sense for him to be a Vol..

Cobb-Webb...J. Lewis-T. Henry. Shouldn't be any reason for concern. Having both makes the offense that much harder to stop, especially in the 4th Qtr.

Per VQ it wouldn't be a stretch to call UT Green's leader from what they're hearing even if Green won't say it publicly just yet.

DG's very aware that we're one big, fast, and strong RB away from having a consistent and powerful run gm. The piece of the puzzle that would allow a more balanced attack and much more potent offense.

I don't think it's that simple. I think there also needs to be a change in offensive philosophy. An O-line with as much size and athleticism as UT's shouldn't be struggling to run block against the Akrons of college football.

There is speculation that CJC may not be around to reap the benefits of a 'back like DG. Nonetheless, I've previously stated my thoughts on CJC and his play calling.
Regardless, I do believe that having a bruising, punishing 'back who has the ability to break through the LOS, get into the secondary and take it to the house will temper CJC's quick impulse to go with the pass. Either way, that type of threat will help keep the "D" honest. However, if CJC's play calling still does not improve the dye will be cast. IMO.

At least I agree with you on something.
