'15 JUCO RB Alvin Kamara (UT commit 6/21/14)

Kinda agree but we dont have a monopoly on dumb a$$ fans.

Altho we certainly have our fare share.

You're right. We don't have a monopoly on it. But our forum is rather big and very popular. Our moronic fans are louder it seems. It's honestly embarrassing sometimes. We have a fanbase that is asking for the coaches head after four games. People can be frustrated. I get it. But they take it too far constantly and it does nothing but hurt the future of this team. Negativity on a message board won't inspire anyone. I think it's pointless and we have proof every year how it hurts UT in recruiting.

A lot of those folks are smart enough to know it will get media attention if they keep calling for Dooley's head, they've formed a lynch mob after the UF loss and haven't slowed down a bit. They think if they keep it up eventually they'll be heard and Jon Gruden will replace Dooley. The only thing that will slow them is a win vs. UGA. A loss this Saturday will only make them 10x as loud. It's going to get worse before it gets better. Unless of course we win some big upcoming games.

Why bother to bump a player's thread that shows minimal interest in being a Vol? C'mon folks let him go. Go to the talk thread with the goods and bads of posters' comments about the UT program. Kamara gets bumped with all this discussion about nothing of value. Same as it was months ago.

No disrespect MZTERRY but It's really simple...We Vol fans would love to have AK in orange. He would be welcomed with open arms, just like Jason. However, AK rarely mentions UT, rarely visits UT but does mention and visit schools like Bama and UGA regularly. Why should we even bother thinking there's even a small chance he'll be a Vol? Clearly he feels he's a better possible fit at other schools. Actions speak louder than words, right? Best of luck to him, hope he chooses Oregon so we don't have to play against him :hi:

And I don't know what to say about the folks in the football forum, can't fix stupid I guess. Hopefully recruits and families avoid listening to the vocal minority morons.

JMO

I respect your post however, I've explained his visits to Bama several times earlier in his thread when UT first offered, and if I have as many followers as I seem to have, then you guys know why he was there a lot this past summer. In regards to UGA, hell , it's at our back door... why not go? Croomster spent a ton of time up there too, only difference is, "MAMA CROOM" was willing to take him to visit ALL of the SEC schools that Croomster and I both had interest in. I wasn't leaving his decision or to be influenced by anybody without me standing there. i've seen kids get turned out by the "DREAM" and "LIES" too many times, then choose a school that fed him a bunch of BS; and be pissed off because they became practice dummies for 2 1/2 years.

Sooooo , if I told y'all that AK has been on campus would that make you feel better, or is that you guys don't know about him being on campus that's really bothering you? Croomster and AK are still tight.

So what if he doesn't mention UT often... he has more knowledge of the matters that "HE" need to know about ; than will ever be posted on this board. AK has done exactly what I told him to do..... keep you hangin until he's clear on his decision. Everything you're thinking is NOT in stone and if you follow AK, you'll hear more about that in the near future.

Hi MZTERRY,

I applaud your effort. Please do not give your self a headache trying to convince the tools and fools that are bashing AK Without any true knowledge. I claim no knowledge either. But I have been taught how to be patient.

If UT were to get Alvin Kamara, Derrick Green and AJ Turman, ithey would comprise Our greatest trio of running backs since Charlie Garner, James "Little Man" Stewart, and Aaron Hayden. One season they all 3 rushed for 1000 yards each (or very close to it). Ask CJG, he was there right after them (I believe). :)

This thread had too many posters that were pro-MZTERRY vs. The ones that were against her. People started kicking non-sense out of their mouths bxtchin everytime the kid didn't talk about us. Most times a recruit like this would have around 100-200 posts but there is so much nonsense going on that people want to say I told you so. Everybody needs to just sit back and see what happens with this kid. Where ever the kid chooses applaud him and keep rolling if it's not Orange. If he picks Georgia hope we pick up enough good LBs to stop him. :)

Let's Go Vols!!!!

Like usual, MZTERRY, brings rationality to this circus called volnation. Perhaps that's because most members of this board still apply clearasil in the mirror before bed. I dunno, but what she says is on point. We have maybe 3 members that actually know what they are talking about, while everyone else takes the carrot and follows Alice into wonderland. Seriously, something needs to be done to curtail some of these fools, especially in the football forum.

How'd you get that his decision is based on it? This is probably just a small variable. Just think about it. Why the hell would you go to a school that has its main football forum over flowing with moronic "fire this, fire that", "we will never be good again" and "bench so and so"? The coaches have their pitch but this pathetic fan base doesn't help at all. It will not be THE reason he choses elsewhere but I wouldn't blame him for considering it as a small factor. Jmo IMO TiFWIW.

If even the smallest part of a recruit's decision is based on what. 00000001 percent of a fan base thinks and posts on the Internet, he's not being smart, IMO. I don't know anything about AK's thought process, but if 100 out of the millions of UT fans' negativity on a message board sways his or any other recruits' decisions, I think they're not being smart with how they are making their decision.

THEY ARE 17 YEAR OLD KIDS. You are older, I assume, and automatically possess something that 90% of the students who graduate don't have: maturity, and an understanding of what's actually important. They are incredibly fickle and can flip at a moments notice. Why do you think there are so many that switch on signing day?

Whether people want to believe or not, forums are just about the only outlet there is for recruits to gather information on what a fan base is like. They will form an opinion on what they see. They are going to spend 3-4 years here playing for your enjoyment. Who wants to spend that long with a fan base that turns on their own so easy? Sure, every board/fan base has their fair share of nut cases. But the last few weeks here have been ridiculous.

The original baby avi scared him away. Doh!

I haven't scared him away...I have only spoken positive things about AK and his recruitment and TN football. Like many other people, I am waiting to see some things from this team and coaches that need to be proved; however, I don't believe that I have ever said anything that would be ammo to steer a recruit away from UT.

Or you could say even .000000001 percent of the decision is made by what the fan base says about the player and future of the program you're an idiot to do something that harms your own team you claim to be a fan of.

I just find it interesting to think that a recruit wouldn't care that the fanbase that they will be playing to entertain doesn't have a bearing on their decision to attend a school. Honestly, being a football player for a bunch of fans that will constantly spew vitriol about me would be a turn off.

Now, it shouldn't be the only factor, or even a major one, but you have to be real that you would rather play ball in a town where the fans support you - even in a loss - rather than a place where every time you make a mistake you become a pariah.

It's not that in think recruits shouldn't care what a fanbase thinks, it's that they should realize that the negative posters on here are only 100 out of 10 million or so of the entire fanbase. I think any recruit would be unwise to base any part of their decision on what a few loud posters, who may or may not even be actual fans, say on the internet

That's true, and the fans did show up for the Florida game, which turned the heads of a good deal of recruits.

The fans filing out of the stadium with ten minutes left in the fourth probably wasn't the best glimpse into our support, but who knows if the recruits care of not.

I would be willing to venture that more than 100 people on here have said stupid negative things, but this too is a minuscule number in comparison to everyone that supports the Vols.

SN: Unnecessary comment that our local media could show a little more support...they are as knee jerky as many fans, but we should expect that from them by now.

these 17 year olds are men and by the time NSD rolls around most of them will be 18. There are players and thousands that aren't mature enough to go to college when they do and a sign of that imaturity is caring what a small porsion of the fan base on a web site thinks about them.

Green and others have said how much love the fans show him at the games. If a recruit wants to base his decision on what fans think of him, go to Neyland and listen for them chanting names of recruits.

To blow off a recruit because he has not talked enough (in your mind) about the school you root for is almost as dumb as thinking recruits do not read or are not influenced in small ways by these boards..

Our fanbase is really retarded and it's a shame (should be an insult) to think that winning a big game is the only thing that can fix it..

Yeah, fan support was at a peak for UF...which probably accounts for some of the fall out from losing the game.
