'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

"Definitely," Green answered when asked if the Vols helped themselves with him. "That was my fourth visit and I had a great time and I could tell they needed a running back. The game atmosphere was just unbelievable. It was electrifying and I had a great time on my visit."

"We have a great relationship," Green said. "He's (Jay Graham) been recruiting me a long time. He wants me and they need me. I'm the guy they want and he made that clear. It's always good talking with me."

"Definitely the love from the fans. They were showing me a lot of love while I was up there for the weekend," Green said. "The atmosphere and the team was like a family. I can just see myself fitting there. It was great. "I love it. It's definitely a blessing and a dream come true. Taking pictures and signing a lot of autographs is amazing and a blessing. My first autograph was to a Tennessee fan and they have showed me love for a long time. They were even chanting my name during the game too."

"No question about it," Green said. "They have the coaching staff, the academics and the atmosphere. They have the offense I'm looking for and I really liked what I saw. They were getting the ball to their backs. They didn't get the W like they were hoping for but they battled to the end."

IMO I think we are the grunt runners. Not just because of what he said about the visit, but he said a while back that he was gonna go wherever he felt the most comfortable with the coaches and players and that's what he said in the article

Common theme from recruits is the great atmosphere this past weekend. That's what's most important on visits.

So should we just pencil him in as our RB? Is this his last OV?

He said he liked the coaching staff and especially CJG. What if that changes? Or are we to assume Kirby is coming in if Dools goes while retaining CJG? Glad y'all are on top of this and feel like he is coming. Hope you are right and that everything falls in line.

The article said he only has one other trip planned so far this fall and it's the Michigan/Michigan St. game October 20th. It also said he's a possible early enrollee.

Isn't Green the big time back that has been super positive after all his visits?

That certainly sounded overwhelmingly like he will be a Vol.

Yes, he was positive after his visit over the summer here as well. He is not an easy one to get a read on though, because every fan base has felt good about him after he visited them. FWIW, Hubbs thought before this visit it was between us and Michigan.

Seems like he was very positive after Auburn also. Has he visited VT or anyone other then us, Michigan and the Barn?

Correct, VOTP claims he almost committed on his last visit. As far as other visits, he has previously visited Ohio State, Clemson, Alabama, Penn State, UGA, Pitt, and VT. He has visited us, Michigan, Auburn, and Ohio State (they are out of it though now) the most.

The bighouse holds alot. 7k more than neyland, im sad to say that a win against sparty seals the deal here once robinson is gone they will become more of a pro formation team and we're a pass happy offense as long as chaneys here. If they lose though i think its 50/50 but i think it comes down to us and mich. Auburn is going to lose to many games to win him over, VT has elite backs already and i see him wanting to play in the sec. I just hope distance is a major factor.
