It's not classless a play action bomb to a 9 route is classless. A sweep is not. You're over reacting. It's HS.
Look, I hope the kid makes it. I hope he goes to UT and becomes the best RB we've ever had. All i'm doing is stating that in my opinion he doesn't have what it takes to be a successful RB at the next level. If you disagree, fine. I have yet to talk to anyone that was actually at the game that disagrees. However, i'm sure Beech fans will say "look he had 200+ yards! " and call it a good game no matter what. He also had an interception stolen from him from a 5-9, 165 pound DB, so there's that too.
He's a good back. He's not great by any means. I wish him the best of luck, as I do any player.
I'll see him play again, maybe my opinion changes. We'll see, could have just been an off night. I know y'all will say 250+ yards is a hell of an off night well yeah, it is. I'd rather see ability than yards.
"Very quiet 282" might be the funniest thing I've read on VN. Awesome.
The shelf life for running backs are shorter than any other player on the field. So, why would a big running back try and run over people on first down if he does not have to. Most backs his size do not have agility or the ability to out run the pursuit. However, Hurd can out run the pursuit on first down and will run you over on 4th and 1. IMO that is a very smart running back who has the ability to play at any level.
Dont quit your day job to become a recruiter!!!
And was probably the dumbest thing i've ever said. Haha.
I could tell he had yards, it just seemed like he ran into wide open spaces. He made people miss here and there but not too often. I'd take him at UT, but wouldn't have high expectations for him.
And as a couple have said, yes feel free to shred me if he tears it up in college ha! I'm too lazy to bump if he is a bust, though. Ha.
not sure he's the tops in the nation after the Oregon kid ran for 644yds and 10td's last night
Hurd should have around 1500 now.
"It was great. I got a chance to go in the locker room before the game and have a brief conversation, kind of a greeting, from coach Derek Dooley and the offensive coordinator," Hurd said. "It was a good time and I enjoyed the atmosphere and it was a great game."
"The main thing they told me was that they wanted me running the ball for the University of Tennessee," Hurd said.
"Just the atmosphere. I've always grown up a UT fan and just coming into the game and the UT-Florida experience was a really great time," Hurd offered.
"I'm not really sure right now. I've always been a UT fan, but I don't really know where they are on my list right now. I'm just kind of taking everything in," Hurd said.
