With all that we have been through, from the UT administration, the Athletic Department, the coaching staff, the players, and the fan base, Knoxville becomes a microcosm this weekend as the Gators come to town.

Seems we have some momentum that feels really good right now, yet we walk on egg shells as we enter the top 25 for the first time in 4 years...not exactly protocol for our beloved Tennessee football program.

We just haven't been able to get a break from the drama, injuries, coaching changes, and most descriptively...just plain ole bad luck. Frustrating to say the least.

Having said that, the above mentioned microcosm gently balances on this pivotal pin head of a game against Florida. If we win, this place explodes with confidence and we rejoice in the fact that we have finally resurfaced as a legitimate contender in the East...headed into the heart of our SEC schedule 4-0.

But, if we lose, this place implodes with doubt and hatred all stemming from the frustration we all endured over the past 5-7 years...and all the crying and whining turns into a flooded river of tears. Ughhhh.

IMO, we are at a total balance between the good and the bad...thus this Florida game weighs so heavy (as it usually does) that it separates and shifts the good from the bad with a ton of weight. Almost too much.

So here's to total focus from the coaches, the PLAYERS, and the fans...as we enter Florida week...AT HOME...in Neyland Stadium...on College Gameday...in the top 25.

We are where we want to be...all of us. It's time to turn up the heat, bring the wood, and arise to this occasion.

May God help keep our team free of any more injury this week, give them total focus, bless them with superb ability...and bring home the glory!!!!

Here's what I think we are gonna do to the Gators:

BTW...I took this photo and thought about how much I hate the Florida Gators when I did!

I just want to sense some enthusiasm in Knoxville again. I remember when people used to hang signs from office windows, cranes etc.

Time to have fun again.

It's freaking on fella's. This is everything we wanted and we as fans need to represent on Saturday and make Neyland Stadium a living hell for anyone or anything representing the gators. We have a chance to show the whole world that Tennessee is back!!!

A microcosm is defined as a small-scale example of a larger entity. A state, for example, can be viewed as a microcosm of an entire nation. So, I'm simply asking what the larger entity would be in this case.

This week is a microcosm of the entire season...in Knoxville.

I see now that you meant the game as opposed to the city.

Yes...but Knoxville is also the microcosm (for us) in all of college football because of all the variables lined up in town this weekend. If we win...even more eyebrows will raise. If we lose, well...you know

after DD came on board, if you would have told me that in his 3rd year, we would be 2-0, top 25, and have Gameday and a top 25 showdown against the Gators looming as a slight favorite or slight dog, I would have taken it all day, every day, regardless of what difficult and frustrating things we had to deal with on the way.

This is the year many people knowledgable of where the program had fallen to, were pointing to, and here we are. Momentum has been up for awhile. We are deeper, stronger, faster, and better than we have been in years. Let's just enjoy the ride and see if we can get it done.

I don't predict games, but have dreaded playing UF each and every game for the last 10 years.
I don't have one ounce of dread in me in regards to this Saturday's game. If you are going, enjoy the atmosphere because it's been awhile.
