Question about athletes and pot smoking...

Maybe I misunderstood but wasn't intending on being a d*%^ if it came across that way. I don't care who smokes or for what reason but I'm not sure why everybody wants to try & justify it that does it. Do what makes you happy but don't argue that it's better than alcohol, used for medical reasons, would help economy if legal, etc etc etc. I have smoked on a few occasians & it's just not all that to me but to each their own. Just realize its illegal for now & there are extreme life altering consequences for some that get caught no matter if they think its a big deal or not.

This. I do it in the comfort of my home with no worry whatsoever. I still dont understand why people run around with pounds and pounds of the stuff and try to make an issue about it when they get caught. They know its illegal. Just because people think it should be legal, doesnt make it legal.

OK, so since the peer-reviewed medical literature is (apparently) wrong, how would you explain my firsthand accounts?

I know: we are all out to get the potheads.

Typical. Dr. Thinking he's God because he chooses which studies are accepted peer reviewed medical data. The reality is accepted medical data changes all the time. See Harvard's thoughts on antibiotics vs. Probiotics.

You know what we call a guy who barely passed medical school and was last in his class?

Doctor,

Why? So everybody can run to the doctor with some bs ailment just to blaze up. They have THC pills.

Thc pills are 5$ each, not covered on insurance, and very limited in what the all mighty Dr. Can write them for.
Loosen up the standard to that of hydros and get insurance to cover them and we will be in agreement.

Everyone knows I'm a recovering alcoholic and yet I think alcohol should be legal.
Please explain how you can think pot should be illegal while alcohol remains legal.
alcohol is far worse for you. And that's pretty much accepted peer reviewed medical data.

SMMFH!!

I don't get the constant alchohol debate. People make alcohol bad. Just like guns don't kill people, people kill people.

How is it any different?

You drink one smoke the other.
One is legal one is not.
One can be regulated the other cannot.

Even if pot was legal how do you test to see a persons level of intoxication on the spot? What would be the standard "acceptable" level? How would you regulate it? You think taxing it is just gonna make people buy from legal sources? Should it be sold over the counter or strictly by prescription? Do you think companies are gonna stop drug testing & hire pot smokers? No. Are schools gonna stop testing & kicking kids off teams for doing it? No.

One can be regulated the other cannot.

So there are no more moonshiners.
Pot would be regulated the same way with some who grow their own.
It's like you learned nothing from Prohibition.

Field sobriety test, just like alcohol.

How would you regulate it? You think taxing it is just gonna make people buy from legal sources?

Yes for the most part. just like alcohol.

Should it be sold over the counter or strictly by prescription?

OTC 21 and up

Do you think companies are gonna stop drug testing & hire pot smokers?

Their choice

Are schools gonna stop testing & kicking kids off teams for doing it? No.

There are plenty of OTC products that are banned and will get you kicked off a team. Pot is no different.

I'm an honest alcoholic who has never smoked pot.
You're an idiot if you can't see pots value far outweighs its negatives.

Lol. What value?! Surely you're not that stupid or maybe you really are. Legalizing won't make anything any better. There's no way to enforce so called taxation & you're an absolute moron if you think it's just gonna be sold OTC at your neighborhood convenient store if it was made legal. If there was anything in it for the government it would already be legal to begin with. The old "it's safer than alcohol" yada yada yada is not even relevant & only a pot advocates opinion.

Edit:
Never mind you're not worth being banned

Doctor,

I have no input on which studies are accepted for publishing. That is up to well-credentialed physicians that comprise the peer-review panels for medical journals. They must meet stict requirements to be considered valid, quite different from much of the information on the oft-quoted internet.

As for the "thinking he's God" comment: I have no clue where that came from. It's quite clear to me who God is, and I thank Him daily for blessing me with the opportunities he has given me to serve others.

Finally, in no way being boastful, your snide remark regarding being "last in his class" is about as far from the truth as possible.

You can go on believing in the merits of marijuana and the delusional idea that doctors fabricate information to sway the pubic opinion about its dangers. No matter how you debate or resort to personal attacks, you will still be wrong.

I'm waiting to hear your dismissal of my first-hand experiences.

the amount of money saved on enforcement of the war on drugs and incarceration of non-violent "criminals" will definitely be a positive step

If anything the amount of enforcement will go up but I will halfway agree with the incarceration thing. I'm not agreeing in legalizing but petty criminals do overcrowd prisons. Of course you wouldn't think that if it was your property damaged or stolen or any crime that may affect you or your family. Habitual offenders need to be dealt with more harshly if anything.
