Dooley just said he doesn't expect Rogers back this season

KW may be the most unfairly maligned player I can remember. The guy played his ass off and nearly paralyzed himselF fighting for extra yardage. We should be so lucky to have that kind of "problem" player.

Agree. He was cocky as could be, but he backed it up and outworked everyone.

He just likes to talk a lot of **** so he can get into arguments and try to belittle people.

It's pathetic and speaks to the intellect of anyone who disparage Dooley as a person based on his skills as a coach. The name calling reinforces it, and just makes them look childish.

I'm waiting on him to tell someone to go kill themselves. It's his routine.

Proof?

I despise Derek Dooley. Everyone knows that here. He's trash. If you can't see he helped create this ****ing mess, then you're an idiot. Other coaches are irrelevant to this situation. You know it, GA knows it, Doofus knows it.

This seems like the same ole song and dance with you. You refer to people as "trash" and "scum" like you are the almighty. It kind of cracks me up. Remind me of what you do for a living again?

Two reasons:

1) He was cocky. I have no qualms with that. But some do.

2) UT had a bad season that year and needed a scapegoat since Fulmer was still looked at as a great coach. KW made the most sense.

What did Kelley Washington do that is similar to the things Rogers has been doing?

Washington was NEVER a discipline problem. Never got into trouble and worked his ass off in the weight room and practice.

He drove a tiny purple car...

I'm impressed. For somebody who was probably under 10 at the time, you have a pretty good handle on what happened.

Really?

UGA with a RB that has flipped to LB and back three times in his career and 2 true freshmen equals depth?

And UGA hadn't gone through 3 coaches in 3 years either just recently. I'm not saying that UGA doesn't have its problems, but they were in a lot better shape as a program to replace a Crowell than UT has been to replace Rogers.

Except Auburn and UGA have more depth to absorb a loss like a Dyer or Crowell. UT doesn't with Rogers.

What most people don't realize when they're hyped up on "insert color of koolaid here", and you astutely pointed out, is that depth is the key to being successful in CFB. I've seen fans of programs get geeked up because they have two or three stars. That's great. But one of those stars is going to go down and another might not have superhuman strenths as advertised. CFB is a team sport. Teams win, individuals distract. That's why I don't bet on CFB. Too many 19-year-olds on the field.

The perceived "problem" with him had more to do with Fulmer than anything. Opposite in this situation for sure. Rogers is all to blame for this issue.

You continue to underestimate my sports knowledge.

My dad/pappaw did a great job raising me on UT history.

I was 9 BTW.

That reminds me of a certain former poster and how he fondly remembered the O'Neill years when he was all of around 8 years old. LMAO.

probably the final nail in dooley's coffin. probably had to be done, but rodgers was probably the best offensive weapon that the vols had. looking more and more like the smart era may be starting by winter in tennessee. gonna make it that much harder for him to win 8 games.

It's actually a ripoff of another routine, but that's a long story. Sort of like watching Avril Lavigne cover Metallica.

I think you should tell it.

BTW, I know the story anyways.

I'm hearing the our freshmen RB's are shining in pre-season. But until they play 'tween the hedges, I'm keeping my expectations in check. Crowell was a prima donna. Sounds like Rogers is as well. UT's better off without him in the long run, as is UGA without Crowell.

Yep, and that is why I don't take anything seriously with UT sports anymore. If there is anything that you can count on, it's a star player getting the boot. Back in the 90's, UT could absorb that loss much better. At this point, they can't as much.

Cobb, Banks, Jackson, Rogers. Hell, it never ends.

If Tyler Bray is as good as advertised, I don't think it impacts us getting to 7 or 8 wins. But getting to 8+ just got harder.

Depends. If you had 8-4 with NC State being a really close win (like me), well it could change.

From Rucker's twitter:

Dooley: "Our expectation" is Da'Rick Rogers won't play at all this season, but nothing set It stone. Process.

Sounds alot more comforting honestly.
