Ok the xbox version has 3 disk.

I think I found your boss. Is it the wizard guy at the end of the ship that turns into a fal'CIE? And you have to kill each of his 4 segments on the outside then you get to attack his head and his head can kill you in one hit?

Yea he is friggen gay. Even after I beat that. I still got stuck on a summon boss. I forgot which one. I gave up on that game smh. Its too hard you get stuck so easily.

I'm with you. The series needs to stick to predominantly turn based. But I don't mind the occasional attempt to innovate. Also the non-turn based games are really still turn based, it just doesn't halt time for you to go through the menus.

I believe if they returned to the old style it would resurrect the series. Imagine a game like VI with HD textures.

I know I can't play 20 minutes of the newer games. Too much glam. They also feel very linear.

It was ok I'm just an old school turn-based person. Supposedly XV won't be turn based and I'm not happy about it

The only reason I can deal with out the turn-based is because I used to playing Kingdom Hearts. That just me thou IDK about everybody else.

FF3 was my favorite
III or VI. III was only released on the Famicom (Japanese NES) until a few years ago. There was a game released in the US on the SNES labeled III but was actually VI. They later changed it to read VI. VI is also my favorite, just slightly ahead of VII.

It's technically vi, but will always be 3 to me

As much of a final fantasy nerd as I am, I regret to say VII is the oldest one I have played. Never played I-VI. I take it they're good games?

While VII is a wonderful gem and has the most re-play ability of all the old FF games, VI was the best one. The only thing I like better about VII than VI was the weapon slots for materia. I loved the different combo's you could put together. VI and VII are a lot alike(VII of course is 3D and VI is obviously 2D). In fact IV-VII have a lot in common(VIII is where they really started to change things). VI just had a, dare I say it, better story and a bunch of different characters.

I suggest playing IV and VI if you can stand the dated graphics. IV was released on the PSP(maybe it was DS) IIRC with updated graphics.

The jump between vi and vii is a big one. If you didn't play the snes alot, you might not enjoy vi as much

The best story I've seen so far was in tactics. That story could be made into a fantastic movie IMO

Edit: don't get me wrong, however. VII's story we beyond epic as well. I remember how awesome it was when you finally got Cloud back and he had accepted what he truly is. It was incredible.

10 hours of chocobo races

Yes! Did anyone else slave away finding nuts to breed the gold chocobo and get the Knights of the Round materia?

I had two separate save files. One where I played through the story, and the other devoted to gold saucer nonsense.

Then I realized that I wanted the KotR materia while playing through the story, so I started back halfway through.

I think I may play through FFVII again at some point. I need to buy a new playstation. My old PS3 broke, and if I send it in, I'm not sure if I'll get a backwards compatible one back.

The gold saucer was incredible as a mini game since there was so much to do there. I loved the chocobo racing and the snowboarding game.

Mini game-wise however, Blitzball takes the cake. Could have been a video game in itself.

Blitzball itself is the best FF minigame, but FFVII was just so damn full of minigames, you could get sidetracked for hours and hours.

Yes, I got the KotR materia. And it was allsome.
