Urban Meyer after visiting Clemson this past year for the first time:
I remember when I was coaching down at Florida, we would always lose kids in recruiting battles to Clemson. I would tell my coaches that we shouldn't be losing kids to Clemson. Charlie Strong responded coach have you ever actually been to Clemson? I hadnt but Ill tell you what, Ive been here now and I get it. This is an exceptional, special place.
Comparing Clemson to a traditional SEC school on game day is not close. Death Valley is fun but not like a game in TTown or even Knoxville. But from a perspective of going to college overall it is a great place and I can see the appeal. There are not many colleges that big that are located in a pure college town. And then surrounded by beautiful landscape.
Tuscaloosa is not that impressive at all.

You guys crack me up it was not meant as a slight to Knoxville. I was only saying they also have a great game day exepriance and if you think UA does not you might want to stop following CFB. Just saying.
And if you are comparing TTown and Knoxville to live in for college towns. I would go to niether for that.
If you consider a good gameday experience a bunch of morbidly obese uneducated people screaming obscentities at the top of their lungs then yes TTown has it on lock.
I am dead serious. That is my experience w/ Tuscaloosa.
I have had those in Knoxville as well.
I understand a fan to take pride in their team but I have yet to visit any stadium, except say the Rose Bowl where I thought some of the fans could be done without. My worst experience was at USC in Columbia. A horrible game day experience and an even more awful city.
True.
I had about 2-3 HUGE people wearing me out for being a Tennessee fan. Wild ravenous bunch they were, the women were indistinguishable from the men.

LOL, however you want to slice it. I was quoting Urban Meyer in response to a post about "I don't understand the appeal about Clemson, etc." It was completely relevant to the topic at hand. What is completely irrelevant is the gameday atmosphere that you keep trying to bring this discussion to. There is no need for me to defend the gameday atmosphere at Clemson.

Clemson's gameday atmosphere is a HUGE selling point in recruiting, not something we have to shy away, which is what you make it sound like. Get over yourslef Tidewarrior.
Florida State quarterback Chris Rix, Florida was loud in the Swamp. But the loudest, not only stadium, but the loudest place I have been around in my life was definitely Death Valley. I was yelling at the top of my lungs in that first series, and I couldnt even hear what I was saying.
