USC just took the commitment from another receiver that earned the offer at camp. I don't know how much this will effect Harris, but it is something to consider...

It seems like he is no longer a take for USC. The USC fans on the main board think they are done at WR now. They also said that if they were to take one more it would be Daniels and Stringfellow.

I'd be shocked if Harris go anywhere other than UT. Likely cancels some of his trips and commits to UT before his season starts.

Are you just assuming USC will have no room for him? His most recent Volquest article had him qouted as saying that we were his number 2 school after USC.

I do not think USC has room for him. Even if they did, I think he ends up at UT.

Very impressive video on youtube, make sure you watch till the end. He actually kicks, place kicks, and punts as well as returns punts and kicks for his team.

Amen to that. I was probably a bit too vocal about the need to replace both Joseph and Hiestand as last season unfolded, but the lack of proper coaching for our defensive backs and O-line was so obvious that I felt we could never get better with either of them on our staff.

Needless to say, I was very gratified at the coaching changes made by Dooley last year and don't think for a minute that he was not behind most of the departures. Those were the best coaching moves Dooley has made since he has been here.

I get my VQ info from this board so I don't know what surprise they are referencing. I certainly know of none. Harris to UT is pretty much a foregone conclusion because he doesn't even have a USC offer and it's unlikely he makes the trip. I believe he'll commit to UT before the end of July.

I think Harris is very athletic and could turn into a very good college WR, but I'm not comparing him to Hunter by any means. He is tall and can jump, but not like Hunter could/can. And I agree North could help early. Very good WR.

I wasn't trying to make another OCI/Insider/VQ argument or point. I was just simply asking if that might be the surprise news that was being discussed on VQ for July 1st since you said we might hear something soon on Paul Harris.

Either way, would be a nice addition to the class & the sooner, the better.
