The Runner's thread

Ran about 3-3.5 miles tonight. ran with a much slower fellow soldier so my pace was down. Also ran in my Nike Lunarlon 2s and feel very little pain or discomfort. Still some that hasn't gone away, but no increased pain

Couple guys said they do the Kinvara. Holabird has the Kinvara 2 pretty cheap right now.

From what I've read and heard, the Kinvara 2 compared to the 3 are quite different in cushioning and support. Only tried on the there though. My Brooks PureCadences have a wider toebox and just feel better on my flat feet. Gonna get a new pair soon

I wore the 2 and I have the three. I have worn the three on a few runs and I am not sure how I feel about it yet

Good luck SD!!

Ran 10 miles today in a about a 7:25 pace. Perfect weather for running this morning. It was around 55-60* and partly cloudy. Felt amazing.

Thanks, Will do. I'm hoping to do it under 2 hours, but not going to beat myself up if I don't

Take some sort of energy supplement before the start and I always take a pack of those energy block things and starting mile seven or so and pop one every mile marker

That's serious stuff. Go get it checked out
i dont have any experience with this, not sure what to expect. started out with mild heel pain when in ran, then it moved up my arch. had a friend who ran ultramarathons who had it, i think its not having a good arch support in the new running shoes i am using. i bought those 30 dolllar supports in my last shoes.

That works for some people but I would be wary about it if you don't have any experience with it in training runs. A good rule of thumb is to never try anything new on race day. No telling how that stuff may sit on your stomach and everyone is different.

If you can eat regularly, you're fine. There's nothing in those blocks that should mess you up

8.7 @ 8:07 pace in the awesome evening weather. Loving my new Kayanos. I'd love to do a half at that pace.

That's a great pace for 10 (well, it's a great pace any day)! I think 50-55 is the ideal range for me, and it makes a huge difference in my runs. Unfortunately I likely won't see temps like that again until winter.

I hate Red Phase. Working from 0430-2000 leaves me no time to run. What little time I have off I just want to sleep. We run some days for PT but its about 4 miles at the most

Finished my first 1/2 today. 2:15. Kinda disappointed in the time but happy I finished

Just to give a point of reference in my first half I wanted to be sub 2 hours and it took me 2:21 min...after keeping at it I can get sub 2 hours pretty easily
