'11 MS JUCO DB Izauea Lanier (Tennessee Commit)

had grades issue before and during juco so it's not surprising that he flunked out. Hopefully UF's new OC will work the Fr CBs in game 3! :)

Gotta find a qb who doesnt go all deer in headlights and have him throw it to those receivers no one has heard of first. keep dreaming dude, yalls d is the only thing youve got going for you. Dont kid yourself.

lol but UT is so much better on O? Your offense is only better when Hunter is playing...UF's QB are freshmen what's Bray excuse for one win against winning teams?

I agree with you for the most part HG, but in Bray's defense he's only had 2 starts vs winning teams I believe, y'all and UGA last year.

Edit: forgot Cincy.

Cincinnati. Nothing to be real proud of , but they did go 10-3.

Are your DB's going to grab the backs of our jerseys the entire game again this year? Better get some orange gloves this season. :)

We'll be fine. Coleman, Waggner, and Gordon at the nickel will be fine. Orta can slide to CB as well as Tino. I'm not really pissed about this.

You shouldn't be comfortable with it. You're expecting true freshmen to produce at a very difficult position in the SEC.

Outside of Coleman and Waggner, I don't have much faith in the CBs.

ok. cool :good!:

Gordon should play well in Sal's defense. He's more physical and takes more chances. Terry Joseph didn't like that so he didn't play.

So Bonner playing nickel/dime is a problem? I think Eric Gordon being used like J.Arenas will work well. Tino Thomas isn't a real true freshman. I'm comfortable with Coleman and Waggner on the outside. I didn't have faith in Lanier personally.

Yes, I think that is a problem given freshmen are very susceptible to mistakes. Mistakes in the secondary leads to TDs. I've always backed Tino, but he's got work to do. I'm not saying we're going to be bad in the secondary. I like our starters. But, IMO, there isn't much depth at this point, and we're an injury away from relying on freshmen.

It sucks to hear that we lose any player but a most likely startin cornerback does suck! Tino will definitely have to step up to give some reliable depth or to start. However, Eric Gordon did impress me many times last year I caught myself talkin about how he was playin pretty well towards the end of the year. I think he will help a lot!

Naz Oliver was listed as a db when he first came to UT correct? I believe he is listed as a reciever now but does anyone think be may be looked at Db again since we have depth at reciever and will need more depth at db? Thoughts?

Wow that is a huge loss. Very disappointing. Lanier was actually my favorite returning corner on the roster. He showed some real flashes last year IMO and his size/athletic combination was hard to find in a corner. I really expected him to become a staple this year in the secondary. Another big-time blow to the starting lineup / 2 deep.

inexperienced secondary equals problems. I dont care how much talent we have. there's no cohesion plus there is a new system.

I see some serious issues in the near future

I rarely disagree with you on anything, but I do on this. Lanier is a big loss at a position that IMO is already talent depleted and lacking depth. I really liked his upside more than any corner on the current roster.

Why does Lane Kiffin even have to be brought up? Same stupid pissing contests over and over about that pos.

Why does Lane Kiffin even have to be brought up?

And it's not even the same kind of thing. Clear's issue was a problem. But this is a juco player with grade issues. Arnett had supposed family issues. And Martin - who knows. Prob just couldn't cut it

Martin was a bust before he ever got to campus. Never liked the pick up.
