Buster Olney ‏@Buster_ESPN
@JohnJCotter Two different types. Just as colleague Boog Sciambi noted, it's because they wanted the infield grass to play slower.
I don't understand how wanting the infield grass to play slower ends up with the embarrassing, awful divots that flew up when Heyward tried to change direction in right field tonight. I've been watching the Braves for 35 years and I've never seen shiat like that. Even when they were sharing a field with the Falcons.
I don't know either because Olney says that the outfield is the same.
Jon Sciambi ‏@BoogSciambiI don't care what some ESPN guy that watches three games a year there says; it's not the same. Heyward tried to change direction and five divots flew out while he fell down. I've never seen anything like that since Schuerholz brought Ed Mangan to Atlanta 20 odd years ago. I have no idea what the hell's going on, but it's clear that it's affecting Heyward in RF.

@Buster_ESPN It's different grass--they changed it to slow down the infield, kept OF grass the same.
It was from Sciambi. But then again, you know all, you have seen 35 years of baseball. Nevermind these guys that actually talk to people with the Braves.
Mi español es probablemente aun peor. I'm just going with what I've seen rather than what the Braves are telling people after what was pretty clearly a disastrous couple of minutes for the groundskeeping crew. You guys all watch a ton of Braves baseball; have any of you ever seen anything like that? Where a guy fell down and divots flew out from several places under his feet?
It was really nice to see Brian McCann, who has a disease that apparently modern medicine cannot cure, sitting right there in the dugout tonight next to the rest of the guys. Guess the flu isn't really the flu? But I sure don't want Brian to come back until he feels all the way better, you guys. Got to be careful with a guy as tender as that.
Man I'm sure glad that Greg Walker is the greatest hitting coach of all time, and the savior of this team.
Oh wait
Not having Chipper Jones, Brian McCann, or Freddie Freeman in the lineup will stifle an offense. Think about the productivity that is missing.
Hell, Jason Heyward hasn't "been in the lineup" for a month now either
