The Runner's thread

Alright guys I need your advice or thoughts. The last two weeks I have been running my legs have seemed really fatigued. I have been running four days a week at most and no more than a 5k for my distance. I have been stretching before and after. I have been drinking plenty of water and after my runs I have been drinking Gatorade recover. Any ideas as to what might be causing the fatigue? (BTW I took a week off from running three or four weeks ago, so I am thinking it's not because my legs are over worked)

Thanks in advance

My bro-in-law just came into town to run the SLC Marathon. He needs a 3:05 to qualify for Boston, and he did 3:08. Brutal.

My wife just ran her first marathon. The Livestrong in Austin. She did 4:34, but paced herself for just under 5 cause she didn't know what to expect. She felt great and was passing people like crazy the last 8 miles or so. She's shooting for sub 4 hours at St. George in October.

Not a runner myself, but can appreciate the dedication it takes.

Take two to three days off in a row, make sure you're getting plenty of potassium and I'd take some glutamine to help in recovery. Take it after runs. I recommend the powder over the pills, but that's just me. If you still struggle with fatigue after three days off (with lots of stretching during), something might be more serious.
