Early word is they'll be on sale next week. To be revealed at 10 am PST.

I'm jumping in finally to the iPad world. :hi:

I've got the iPad 2. You'll love it, they're a lot of fun. And depending on the type of work you do, they can be very useful for work as well. I think I'm going to grab the 4 (depending on what it offers compared to the 2), I've heard rumblings that it may be out in October. Then I'll give my 2 to my wife/daughter.

The new iPad will cost $499 for 16GB. 32GB is $599 and 64GB for $699. If you want 4G it's $629, $729 and $829. Same prices as current iPad, available on March 16th.

They usually do pre-orders on Friday & release the next Friday. Then you can sit back & rack your brain tracking it after you get the shipping notice.

Ordered though the site was blowing up and I hit the order button so many times I thought I might be getting 10.

As an iPad 2 owner, I'm glad I don't have to shell out another $600 on this. Not worth the upgrade IMO.

I think LTE is a pointless feature. I mean, that data speed will suck down usage even more than 3G. Those plans needed to be higher.

Bought the first version and still love it and use it every single day. May have to think about moving up to the new version.

If you have an iphone 4s, why would you need an ipad besides a bigger screen with no phone capabilities? Im asking bc my wife wants one and I dont see the big difference...
Read books?

I say go for it if you can afford it. It'll be a huge upgrade for you. I love my iPad 2, it was my first iPad and I plan on keeping it.

Does she already have an iPad? Maybe she wants to be able to watch movies/Netflix on a bigger screen or the book thing you said. It's a neat little device. Personally, I think it's worth it and I have a 4S.

I'm thinking 4G myself or possibly 4GS. The number 5 doesn't really fit in line or stand for anything.

Kinda wish they'd just do away with #s and just release them all as "iPhone". Seems like that's what the idea is for the iPad now.

They called it "the New iPad"...never mentioned HD or 3, so looks like they are moving from numbers. I have a iPad 1 that I got passed down when my father passed. I never used it because I have a Mac book pro. Then my battery went south so started using the iPad for surfing etc. haven't looked back. Love the iPad. Just pre ordered a 32gb wifi only New iPad.

So the real question in my mind is how cheap will the Ipad 2s get and when will this happen?

$100 price drop. 16GB wifi only is 399. Best bet would be buying one from someone that is looking to upgrade - can probably get for under 300.
