That's not at all what was going on. I get frustrated when I try to have this discussion and they throw out the trump card. "Because the Bible says so."

When Gramps threw that out there, maybe it got under my skin a little, because there is nothing you can say to that, and therefore, I believe if you're going to be like that you don't need to come in a thread like this.

Herd mentality hard to beat. Going to hell........no basket.:p

Christians accept that they already have all the answers, and they don't look any further.

For the most part, of course. There are plenty of Christian scientists, and some that seek to apply scientific theory to religious text to explain what is meant in the Bible.

What christians have you been around to form this opinion?

Hang with? Not many. Most are family or coworkers.

So, you do not actually spend much time/"hang" with them, you just know their religious theology by being around them some........your right, that is not stereotypical at all......my bad

I grew up in a church setting and attended off and on until I was 20. Both Lutheran and Baptist.

ya, most teen agers really dig deep into theology and the core values of the Christian faith, NOT, heck, at twenty all I cared about were girls and baseball and I went to a Christian University and was forced to take Bible, I had some pretty screwed up ideas of what being a Christian was all about, thus the continued search that still drives my faith
