1) burned bras, fought the power, marched for free love and happiness and were anti-money in the 60's and 70's.

2)snorted coke, became greedy, created the two family working system, lived above their means, created the "latch key kid" generation, placed money before family

3)went from illegal drugs to legal drugs and found that the best drugs could be obtained from Walgreens.

4)became shocked when their children grew up lost, confused, Generation X's, and blamed society and the school system for not raising their children better.

5)went from living a little over their means to way over the means, heavily in debt, upside down on their mortgage and again blaming someone else for the situation

6)went bankrupt, lost their homes, now asking the same government they protested against in the 60's to come help bail them out in 2008.

7)Now ready to sell the next generation down the river no matter what as long as medicare and medicaid and social security aren't touched.

8) 2012 nominations will be pandering to them as they hold the majority of votes and only care about themselves.

9)Are the main reason this country is going to fail. They were born from the greatest generation of Americans ever and instead of taking the country to the next step, they tore the country apart.

Walter Williams thinks his "great" generation stinks!

There's no question that the "great" generation spared the world from external tyranny, but it has outdone any other generation in destroying both the letter and the spirit of our Constitution, and as such produced a form of tyranny for which there's little defense.

Walter Williams: The Great Generation?

Well, change it then, NEO. Work hard to do it. Then, shake your head when it all blows up in your face because you didn't understand the ground rules.

When I was young I thought I could change the world.

Then I grew up and the world changed me.

The greatest generation didn't raise them right

I'm hopeful. My oldest daughter graduated from UTK in 2009, is a supervisor at a local non-profit doing some good for kids in N. Knoxville. Her and her husband bought a bank owned home in a working class neighborhood for about 1/3 the cost and fixed it up into a nice little dream home. Even on their limited incomes they'll have it paid off in under 7 years. He has taken his Poli Sci degree and started his own small business installing floors and painting--and he loves the work. They'll be the successful, debt-free, and politically involved generation that helps us younger baby boomers turn things around.

well, after labelling my generation lazy and self-entitled, they better not expect any help from me when the walls come tumbling down.

Glad to see this. My generation isn't great, but it's pretty insulting to be called the entitled generation by the baby boomers who will leave us with a burden of debt.

That being said, the biggest problem is still the two party system and the career politicians who like it that way.

My parents are baby boomers(born in '49 and '50). They have not participated in any of the activities and/or would be gov't handouts you lumped in with their entire generation. Labels are fun, though.

I have a hunch that I know both your daughter and her husband.
