Who's defending the kid? Looks like the story gives evidence of two criminals imo, but one of them is paid to not be one.

That "evidence" was probably leaked by KPD PR department to run interference. Didn't want it to be a big story since this same POS ran someone else off the road to their death a year earlier.

A college degree is not an indicator of intelligence. A degree means that you at least achieved 1 point above failing.

Unfortunately, you overlooked the point; an intelligent person would conclude that risking life for the salary comparable to a car salesman is not a desirable job. Unless authority over others is really valuable.

I think Bama's relatively on the money here.

The cop didn't know the kid was dead when he deliberately drove past the wreck. The fact that he died on impact is beside the point. I'm even okay with him getting sued for it.

That was not the point that BAMA was making. He said that if the trooper had stopped the kid wouldnt have died. That is simply not true, if the article is correct, It stated that he died on impact. The question is since the Trooper had no idea that the kid had already deceased WHY didnt he stop? Its a morality issue with the trooper not a question of whether the kid would have died or not. And it is definitely a despicable thing to drive by, especially for a trooper.

I dont really know how I feel about the lawsuit one way or other. I mean I guess the kid ran, and would have died even if the trooper stopped so not real sure how one can argue that its a wrongful death suit.

It remains that this is a sad situation, and we should try everything to be respectful to the families.

I recall saying the pos should have tried to pull the kid from the wreck to prosecute for his crimes. Cop had no way of knowing whether he was dead or not.

Perhaps I misread the article, but how does chasing someone who broke the law and who continues to avoid pulling over, equate to running someone off of the road to their death?

If I recall you have to ALIVE to be prosecuted so yea you were essentially saying that if he would have stopped the kid would be alive
