does anyone realize how close Ohio State was to losing to Xavier??

When they can come back from nine with 3 minutes left against a 1 or 2 seed, then I'll give them props.

Xavier is a very good team, don't discount them...They proved today they can hang with the big boys...They are a Junior and Senior laden team and when their Seniors were frehman they went to the Elite 8 under Matta, only reason they were a 9 seed is because they went out early in the A10 tournament...If they woould have won the A10 tournament than I have got to believe they would have been anywhere betweeen 5-7...

A lot of people thought Xavier shouldn't have even gotten in, but if you're down 9 with 3 minutes to go, then good luck beating Florida.

if the gutless ref had called the foul the way it should have been called, xavier would have had shots and the ball, and we would be discussing how ohio st. DID lose and not how close they were to losing.

there aren't many times i will blame the outcome of a game on a ref, but had the right call been made in this case, the outcome would have been different. that missed free throw would have been a moot point.

I understand that Oden did. However, Xavier had every opportunity to put that game away...and did not.

Therefore, blaming the refs is simply a way to try and rationalize their poor play down the stretch.

in this case i don't think it is. again, had the right call been made, xavier would have won.

give me a break, Oden raped him.

While I agree that he did foul him incredibly hard...that's a tough call for an official to make...

In cases like that at the end of the game teams always foul intentionally and they refs know it...they could call it intentional everytime if they wanted because it is truly intentional...

true, but Oden killed that guy. That is a little more obvious.

Agreed, but at that point there were bodies being thrown around everywhere, that was a crazy sequence of events leading up to it and the refs let them play the whole time...

And like was said, it should never have even come that...

that was a flagrant though, it's a bit different.

Actually, if you watch the video, Oden is touching the ball when he throws the guy out of bounds...

It could have been called either way. Should have probably been a flagrant foul. However, Xavier should have made the FT. Xavier should have fouled when they didn't make it. Bottom line, Xavier should not have let their 11 point lead slip in the way that it did.
