why is that scary? the Santos family have a lot of VFL friends. They arent like what they are being portrayed here..The thing that is scary is people here attack a family just because they are happy that their son got an offer from a school that they have always been a fan of.

Wow, what a creep.

Well,it's not fair to Dalton b/c he is 18 and old enough to make his own decision..It's the parents job to support him.:clapping:

I seen on scout where his mom said that it was good to know that Dalton could go to school and they wouldn't have to move "baby wyatt" away from everything he knows. BABY WYATT IS FOURTEEN!!!!!!!!!!! DALTON IS EIGHTEEN!!!!! cut the cord.

When you turn 18, you are considered an adult and she needs to realize that..Hell, Dalton is never gonna learn how to stand on his own 2 feet if she doesn't let him.:clapping:

Most parents like the idea of getting to see their kids play ball. Could the Santos family pack up and move to Knoxville? Of course they could. They could find new jobs, put their other kids in new schools, find a new place to live, and spend thousands of dollars doing it. Or they could just allow Dalton to commit to his favorite school growing up and not change anything about their day to day lives. While it would be ideal for us as Vol fans that they just pack and start over here, it would be very easy for them to just stay in Texas.

I am sure if you have the means to provide them with jobs, cash, a home, and things they would need to relocate to Knoxville, they would listen to what you had to say. Dalton may be my favorite recruit in this class, I can just understand why he would decide to play for the Horns.

When I was 18 joined the Army, six months in FT Dix then to Bauhamholder Germany. All alone so it could be worse than going to school in Knoxville Tn.Oh by the way shortly after Desert Storm started,Now that will make you home sick!

Yea, because it's a necessity to move to where your kid is going to college.

Your right that it is not a necessity for alot of parents. The Santos family made it pretty clear early on that they intended to do it if Dalton went outside of Texas for college.

The point I and few others are tryin to make is Dalton is not a kid. If they want to move...its their choice. However, why do they have to? If they have the means to move like that, why can't they buy tickets to a few games a year? Also, its wrong for his mom to add that little bit about "baby wyatt" and "everything he knows". That's adding guilt, IMO.

It's clear to me that is what they are doing, and DS is still resisting them. Why would you through that out there if he was already decided on Tx? They are pushing him to TX. I have no doubt. IMO.

Exactly! Maybe the parents can get a court order from a judge, and have "the cord" reattached so that he may never get away. But, then again, I would have loved to play in my home state, with my parents in the stadium every weekend.
So why judge? Just let it all happen. We can't control it. Just try and enjoy the process of the ones who actually sign with Tennessee, and get ready for the spring game!! Go Big Orange!

Honestly, if my kid were to play D1 college ball, in any sport, I'd love to see them play every home game without moving. Otoh, it would be their decision and I would support them.

That's fine if YOU wanted to, but what if you didn't?
