for my two cents' worth, i still firmly believe patterson will don the orange come nsd. Most of you posters who've been here a while know i don't have any sources or try to act like i do or anything like that, heck i probably just jabber too much as it is haha. That said, a couple of months ago i posted some info on patterson i got from a person who i figure is pretty legit, or certainly moreso than me. He is a recruiting intern at ut and is in the offices every day. He said then that patterson personally told coach dooley he was coming to ut but would officially announce on signing day. Fast forward til about a week ago. I figured there was no way he was coming now but the guy said patterson told the coaches again he thought it was still ut but he wanted to make 100% sure he was comfortable with coach hinshaw as his position coach. What this amounts to i guess is that cdh has done a phenominal job here and i fully expect him to land patterson. I'm sure this'll be ripped apart but i just thought i'd post what i knew. :hi:

boom?

I don't think people on this board fully understand just how good Da'Rick is.

Da'Rick is a physical mismatch for most corners....but he lacks the speed to run away from corners...his physicality makes up for that in the SEC, but it won't in the NFL...he must get faster, be more consistent, and lose his attitude to become truly elite...

Hunter on the other hand--if he can come back full throttle--gain weight and keep his speed--is WAY BETTER than Da'Rick...

They both are better when they both are on the field.

You realize he's run a 4.42 40 in high school right? At 6'3" 220

Da'Rick's speed is just fine. 4.4 forty will work in the NFL, I assure you.

Speed is good for NFL, their roles will be different, look for Da'Rick to compare with the Boldens and Crabtrees running slants and catching the ball across the middle for first downs and powering through DBs on short yardage goal line plays, Hunter will be a stretch the field guy. You do realize you could make the argument in reverse in a different fashion, Hunter might not be strong or physical enough to go across the middle in the NFL while Da'Rick has the prototypical body for it, just saying.

But trust me they both will play on Sunday's, just hope they continue to compliment each other while here at UT, and when it is time may they be fortunate enough to get drafted to a team that that teams system fits their individual talents and/or skill sets. JMO.

I hope Patterson will see the opportunity he has to really shine along with two other great receivers. It would be a win win. Great for him because he wouldn't ever have to worry about double coverage plus we would have one of the most prolific passing attacks in the country.

I've got a feeling if Rogers were somewhere like the Big 12 playing for Okla St. you would swear that they wouldn't miss Blackmon this year. He was a young frustrated player. He still put up over 1000 yards with Matt Simms and Worley throwing to him for a lot of the season. Yeah he's had some drops but he's made some tough catches too. The coverage Georgia gave him should've made everyone realize how good Rogers is. They ran a freaking triangle defense like he was Charles Rogers(Mich. St. WR). Florida did the same thing to an extent at times. He would've had 100 yards that game too if he hadn't had a big physical catch called back. How soon do we forget lining up guys like Briscoe, Lucas Taylor, and Austin Rogers as our top 3 WRs(f-ing ridiculous for WR U). Rogers will have a big year if everyone stays healthy.

Nah they don't. He's an emotional player but hell who can blame him for getting open and the ball either is lobbed to him or skips along the ground to him. Only game he didn't play well in to me was the SCAR game. Players blaming him for the Kentucky loss was hilarious to me. Poole should've blamed himself(terrible ass). Or the refs for blowing that fumble call(worst shxt I've seen in years).

Yea the potential DR has is all-world but can he hone in for an entire season without any sort of a side show or hint of T.O. (Team Obliterator).. I also think all the talk about DR going pro after next season may be a bit far unless he has a Justin Blackmon type season which Blackmon did in his Jr. yr before turning pro and so that DR gets all the worth out of his highest possible draft stock

As good as Da'rick was the difference maker IS Hunter. He scares the secondary with the combination of his length" no homo" and speed. If the roles were reversed as far as being injured ,imo we would have been an 8 win team. Teams are not afraid of 21 down the field and could clog the first 15 yards from los. If 11 comes back healthy wether we get Patterson or not, a full sseason of 21 and 11 together will be awesome

Yeah, but what was his 400m time? :)

Im a firm believer that rogers would have went for about 1500 yards in an okst or oklahoma system. just like you said he had a great year on a young team, with a backup qb for almost half the year in the SEC against the toughest schedule in the nation no less. rogers is a freakin stud. yeah hes a little dramatic but most recievers are, as long as he doesnt tear the team apart and still produces get over it.

DR is a beast, I totally agree that in a more pass happy offense he could have completely blown up. I also doubt seriously that if we don't lose both JH and Tyler, the DR doesn't get the attitude problem at the end of the year. How could he not be frustrated to be honest. Dude became a very seriously bridled horse after running wild for half the season.
