'12 SC WR Quinshad Davis

Yes but UT already has 4 guys that are said to be WR's in this class: Howard, Bowles, Croom, and Blanc.

I am not at all sure UT takes both.... or even can without dropping someone else at this very late date. And who would that be?

All in all.... nice problems to have for a team that is 23-27 over the last 4 years. I still do not know if Dooley can coach... but I am pretty well convinced he can recruit.

Blanc will be moved to defense after the spring. Our WR depth for spring practice is horrible. With Hunter out, our top 3 WRs are Rogers, Rogers, and Dallas. Our next best WR is Naz Oliver or Blanc. With the possibility that Hunter and/or Rogers leaves after next year, our top returning non-FR WR will be Dallas...and only Dallas.

Sounds like we take Davis as the staff even though optimistic is pretty sure Patterson heads to UGA

Jumped to a conclusion. Noticed you said non-FR WR.

Arnett leaving really hurt. Hopefully D. Rogers and Hunter both have good enough seasons where the NFL is a legit option, and hopefully at least 1 returns for their SR season.

I agree. If Hunter and Rogers leave, we'll be essentially "starting over" at the position. Dallas, Croom, and Pig are all we have after those two. Q. Davis or Patterson would really help. I'm building confidence back with Patterson since it's been a known fact that the staff was looking to bring in a JUCO WR. Wilson is all but gone, and we've been on Patterson for a while.

Don't forget Bowles and don't write off Wilson. He's a legit option because I doubt Arkansas has room for another WR, which leaves it between us and Arizona.

I read over at VQ that JC Shurburtt is saying we are leading for Davis going into this weekend's visit. Not shocking info but thought I'd share.

There is also the distinct possibility that Patterson will declare for NFL after next season no matter where he signs.

Blanc is an athlete and they still aren't sure where they are going to use him and Howard will be used at hb, wildcat, and slot. So we only have 2 true recievers in Croom and Bowles.

I find it hard to believe that both of our recievers will go in the first round next year. One will stay to be the first rounder the next year.

Players leave early when they aren't projected to be 1st round picks all the time. 60 underclassmen declared this year. That's almost 2 full rounds worth of players.

But it is rare to see two WRs declare early from the same team in the same year.

Its possible but both recievers are legitimate first round draft picks and there is a huge difference in the amount of money a first round pick gets compared to a second round.

All very true. I think if both are healthy and both play up to potential then there is little chance that both are here for their senior year. It just wouldn't make any sense.

And, although it would be nearly unprecedented, it would not surprise me to see both go in the first round. It all depends on how the receiver pool is this year and how many other underclassmen declare at other positions.

It may be a perfect storm though where WR is a position of need in the league and legitimat1st round takes are limited.

What are the chances Teague flips back to WR?

I love it. Now that USCjr is virtually out of the hunt for Davis they are saying he's only average and nothing special. The same guys 15 pages earlier were saying he was a program changer. smh
