This bolded point after stating that the Big 12 is now a deeper conference than the SEC? Pure gold...

I never said that. I did say that SEC brought in 2 substandard football programs in Mizzou & A&M but the SEC is still better and deeper than the Big 12.

it had been reported that Muschamp was not happy about the direction of Texas, did not think Mack would hold on for so long, and even said that had he known that would have accepted the TN job when offerred it after Kiffin left. Also had serious issues with the S&C program. And now of course Mack wants to hold on longer like a sad old man who is only working on ruining his legacy at this point.

All valid points.....the S&C guy at Texas during Muschamp's time in Austin was a joke and has been replaced. Mack would have retired if Colt hadn't gotten hurt in the national title game. Brown would have gone out a winner and Muchamp would have been the coach in 2010 - that was the plan. EVERYONE, Muschamp included, became frustrated. As for Mac hanging on too long, he didn't want to leave after a down year. He wants to build Texas back up to a national title contender and he feels he owes it to the school. Look at the recruiting class Texas has, he is doing his job well.

What is your point go start a thread....You idiot.....Texas is headed in the wrong direction....Mack cannot coach anymore....and the staff does not have chemistry....Lame Duck.....He cannot make it happen sad but true....

He will never rebuild the program and the Texas group allowed him to stay......

Now go discuss this crap with your buddies on the Texas Board....Or start a thread in the football forum that addresses all the Non Santos issues you have brought up in this thread......This is a recruiting thread....Your Hypotheticals are not warranted here and you should be banned from the board....period.

Cya.....

Hope I'm not the only one that has used the "ignore" button on Mr.ArrogantTexasGoofball.

As I said, this is no coincidence that he just happen to show up when Texas had a chance to steal one of our fav. recruits...He is exactly what his name says he is, but this "person" wants to act like he knows something about football..Since he thinks he is an expert, then let me ask him how many NC has the SEC won since the BCS started..That's what I tought!! Have a nice day!!:eek:lol:

I'm going to say Texas goes 9-3 or 10-2 regular season next year with their EASY ASS SCHEDULE. 2012 Texas Football Schedule and Results. WVU is really going to get a wakeup call moving to a decent football conference.

They are a top 15 team next year and will be top 5-10 in 2013. They actually are a young team and will be a lot better if they can find a solid QB to go along with all their talent. Conner Brewer may be the guy.

Also Texas did have great results from 2000-2009 but they played extremely weak schedules until they scheduled OSU in 2005, which still didn't mean that much b/c they don't have to play Nebraska annually. I mean some of their schedules have been absolutley laughable for a school of their stature.

Dalton Santos wasn't born on a mountaintop in Tennessee. But he might just have some pioneer spirit in him, like Davy Crockett. Why does Santos bring the Davy Crockett song to mind? Dalton, Dalton Santos, king of the wild frontier...

They do have the cool statues going for them....

Do you know that song in parts?

Good, then leave your part out...

ouch

Those statues are great arent' they? They were created by one of the book stores and the source of quite a bit of ridicule by Longhorn fans.

As to Santos. I think it's a 50/50 deal. You've got childhood favorite plus Daddy working for Texas vs. loyalty and a better chance to play his true position for Tennessee. I don't think anyone knows how the coin is going to flip on this one.

As to Muschamp. Yes, I think he was mad about how things shook out over the 2 years he was at Texas. The S&C coach was a joke. The laziness in recruiting was a joke. (We'd go after the easy signatures and call it a day long before February meaning we were missing out on late bloomers and the National types that generally sign later on in the process.) The program had settled in to complacency which was/is inexcusable. He did leave on good terms as evidenced by the fact that Mack asked him to not take Applewhite (and one other coach who's name currently escapes me).

I'd never heard anything about the Wilcox situation so I'll leave that be.

My wife and 90% of my friends are Vol alumni so it pains me to read the Texas bashing. On one hand, I want to respond with trash talking of my own. On the other hand, I want Tennessee to do well so that I can, once again, enjoy tailgates and games with my Vol inner circle.

I have nothing but respect for Texas' program, but Arrogant Texas Fan came on here talking trash and you have to understand he is going to get it back in face. With that being said, I do dislike the following about Texas:

1. Out of the 3 times we have played each other EACH GAME HAS BEEN IN DALLAS = completely unfair. This exemplifies how Texas won't step out of their comfort zone, especially playing on the East Coast.

2. You guys played weak OOC opponents and virtually nobody besides Oklahoma from 2000-2009, which allowed Mack Brown to win a lot of 10 game seasons and get to multiple BCS games.

I respect the following:
1. Your game day atmosphere and tailgating is considered one of the best in the country
2. Your great academic institution.
3. You guys are #2 all time in wins, although your program has been around about 15 years longer than ours and most others.
4. The women in Austin.

Good post. My best friends are Texas fans, and they've never been arrogant about their program. I've only had good discussions with them. Their trip to Neyland Stadium blew them away. I agree with you on this one, it's 50/50. Admittedly, if I were Dalton, I'd pick the childhood favorite with my heart, but the program with more playing time to give with my brain. Tough choice.
