I am leaning more and more toward the idea that between Q Davis and Patterson, Tennessee is going take the first one to commit and at the moment, I believe Q Patterson will be the first to commit. Assuming the other one wants to commit as well, his fate will be dependent on how we end up with Santos (I think we will hang on to him), Kirven (I think we get him also), and Robison. Briscoe could also factor into it if he wants to commit and we miss on Kirven.

You just spelled out the exact scenario I have given as the reason not to recruit Briscoe. If we pull his offer at the last minute due to these other guys jumping on board I am scared it will send Bourque to Miami pissed we screwed his friend.

If Bourque is only coming to Tenn because his friend might... See ya, thanks for coming.

Doubt it. Bourque seems very solid to UT. He and Otha Peters have been talking about the big things they are about to do at UT together.

I don't think that's the case bro. He went to Miami (where his boy is committed) and didn't flip to Miami. He is solid to us, and just trying to get his friend to Knoxville with him. Unfortunately for him, I think K.K takes his buddies spot.

That isn't my suggestion in fact its just the opposite. We don't need to recruit Briscoe to get Bourque. The only way we don't get Bourque is if he gets pissed and loses trust with the staff. That could happen if we recruit, offer, and then don't take his friend.

I understand your thinking on that, but I somewhat disagree. Remember it was said that if Briscoe committed to the "U" that he would too. Well he did, and Bourque didn't. Instead he flipped the script and is now trying ro pull the UT card with Briscoe.

Sorry to do this man, but it's lose, not loose.

I don't think it would happen just saying its possible. I don't think the kid is a good enough talent to take a chance of it happening even if its a small one.

Edited for you!

Thanks my friend. Btw, as I said, I can totally see your logic in that.

Agree full heartedly. IF, he were to hold us hostage... Well, that is where I am coming from. I don't think that is the case thankfully. However, IF...

Correct! Briscoe is a last resort option IMO. The 2013 class is sick with potential. I wouldn't mind leaving a spot open. Flamers, flame on! :neener2:

Sooo, Patterson is going to decide the night before NSD and then have it taped to play during NSD? Hm. I wonder what the odds are that it's leaked out beforehand?

I mean, I've never talked with him or anything. Just going by what he's said to VQ and such. Let's put it this way, he doesn't seem to be close to what Gabe Wright was last year.

Well that's good, if he turned out to be a "superstar" persona, and the rumors on Rodgers were true..... If he commited that would make some waves.

Agree on all.

And I think even Peyton would have had a tough time winning 7-8 games with this year's Colts. Aging at key places, significant injuries at others, combined with mediocre drafting the last 5 years. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Colts blow it all up with Peyton ending up in Baltimore, NY, or Dallas.
Let's put it this way...Polian was one of the most highly regarded GM's in the profession before the season. But him simply not drafting or acquiring via free agency/trade, a worthy backup, by his own admission, was what cost him his job.

Speculating that Peyton wouldn't really make that much of a difference is ridiculous. Can't argue with the past 10 or so years that dictate otherwise.

The same goes for Cam Newton. If he comes back for his senior season, Auburn is very likely duking it out with LSU and Bamer for the West. You just cannot logically make a case that disregards the immense impact a marquee QB has on a team.

Our problem was that there was just too much of a dropoff in talent/experience behind both Bray and Hunter. That's why such a promising season took a complete 180 degree turn for the worse when those two were taken out of the equation.

I am actually ashamed of that one. Only thing I am ashamed of posting on the Internet ever actually.

I don't know if I got to an embarrassing part of it. I remember you saying DJ reminded you of joe c and him busting out with edited lyrics. Funny stuff

Yeah, he doesn't come across as that. Honestly, this team cannot really handle another one of those personalities in the locker room IMO.

Put it this way... I made mama Croom sayyyyy Whuttt over it. There's a fine line between funny and running something into the ground.
