for number one to matter, you are apparently assuming that our passing game will be as good, at the very least, as last season.......and that has yet to be seen with a new crop of WR's....TE's though figure to be a big plus for us...but WR's must contribute at some point. It's going to come down to 2 things:
1) can we run the ball this time?
2) can our D kept Teblow in check?

as for number 2.....Tebow isn't what should worry us by himself......Harvin and Co. as a group could be pretty good, i don't think Tebow has to be a hero for that offense to be decent.
Senior QB's have a way about them.

Teams with senior qbs definitely have an advantage going into the season. Teams with underclassmen (2007 Florida) have their work cut out for them.
Of the 18 teams in the BCS title game, since 1998, only one sophomore (Marcus Outzen in 98) and one redshirt freshman (Mike Vick) have started in the championship game. All other qbs have been juniors (7) and seniors (9).
I WAS NOT CONFIDENT NOAH WAS THE UGLYEST BUT NOW i AM SUREI was very confident about this game in the afterglow of the NC game. But now that the reality has set in about most of our defense leaving and Tebow's relative inexperience, I am not so sure. At this point, I still give us the edge. The game is at home and I still feel like we have the better lineplay going for us.
But I am not as confident about it as I was three months ago.

that is a VERY tough place to play...on TV it might seem like a small stadium...but when you go inside...its unbelieveble...its the best game atmosphere i have ever been in
i dont think that's negative, it's probably realistic...we still have holes to fill on defense and some questions on O line and WR.....i too think we are a year away from being a serious contender again. but given our schedule next year, anything less than 9-3 would just be awful. You guys are going to think I am just negative, but we are going to strugle next year. 07 will be a rebuilding year for 08. 08 we are going to ber real good, but so is FU. Our line is still too young. The Vols will be competitive because of Ainge. Senior QB's have a way about them.
there were many of us last year that felt the same way about Chavis and the defense heading in to last season......the defense was just assumed to not be an issue because it hadn't been lately....and we all know how that worked out...experience and talent is necessary. We have talent at WR, no doubt. with Ainge being out til July, the summer work outs will be huge for him and the new WR's to develop timing etc....carry that in to fall camp and who knows....but until proven otherwise, the WR's are a big time question mark.I'm confident that Trooper will have the WR's ready to rock come Swamp time. The whole team will be confident when we blow Cal outta the water again
You're right about Harvin, he'll be the most dangerous player on the field. I hope Chavis deals with this threat accordingly. I gotta feeling that Tebow is going to try to force things alot this year- and we need to make sure we make him pay for it.
I agree pj, there's nothing like the Generals house. The swamp isn't bad but I have it behind LSU and bammer. There is something about a UT bammer game that must be experienced live. Walking into Neyland or Bryant Denny on the 3rd Saturday in Oct you know you're about to watch something special.[/QUOTE]
That's a fact.
