I am sure that my gut feeling will be wrong, but I really feel that Dalton knows who will develop him the best...and that is OUR coach, Sal Sunseri. CSS's resume speaks for itself...look at the studs that he has developed at Bama. I am sure that will be one of Sal's biggest pitches to Dalton tomorrow, as well as he can play big boy football in the most dominant conference in the country, the SEC. When Dalton sits down and weighs the pros and cons of Tennessee vs Texas, I think that the length of time we have been recruiting him, the conference he will play in, who will be his DC and position coach, the long-term relationships he has developed with CDD and some of our other coaches, and the relationships that he has with A LOT of our incoming players will be too overwhelming to turn down to go and play for your home state school (where you are a life-long fan), but just now started to look at you. Think about it...he has NO relationship with ANYONE from Texas...coaches or incoming players. He only has about 48 hours this weekend and an in-home visit tomorrow to develop relationships that he trusts that he will have to depend on for anywhere from 3-5 years. That's a lot of things that have to happen in a VERY short time. Now, I may be completely wrong, and Dalton tells CSS tomorrow that he is no longer a Vol and will be committing to Texas this weekend; however, I still say that he said along time ago that he would commit on the spot if he got a Texas offer. HE DIDN'T DO IT! I am sure that he has been on Texas' campus a few times, since he is a life-long fan, so it can't be that he has to make sure he likes the atmosphere, the campus, the stadium, etc, etc. He probably has already seen those things. Come next Wednesday, I still think that Dalton signs on the VFL dotted line!!
