During the regular season & the post season, the Big 12 was the 2nd best conference. In fact, for much of the regular season, the computers had the Big 12 as the best conference. Am I saying the elite of the Big 12 is better this past season than the elite of the SEC? Of course not.
Also, with WVU and TCU coming in for A&M and Mizzou, the Big 12 has become more difficult while the SEC has become easier. A&M and Mizzou are great additions for the SEC relative to eyeballs watching TVs and better TV contracts but purely in football terms, the Big 12 came out of realignment much better.
This whole conference issue is what has confused the aggies relative to recruiting. They think recruits will be more excited about them because they are in the SEC. Conference affiliation means more to them, and probably to you guys, than it does to Texas. Kids from the lonestar state grow up wanting to be a Longhorn and it has nothing to do with conference affiliation. They feel that being a Longhorn is special.
If Texas had any balls, they would have petitioned to join the SEC years ago. The fact is they are content in playing in an easy conference that they basically own. The only reason the computers wouldn't consistently grade out the SEC as the best conference is that we beat the hell out of each other. Texas is nothing but a castrated bull. It may look tough, but it's still a *****.
Not that you need the help, but it always helps to hear it from the head ball coach.

Mack Brown is scared to death, he's only won a couple more games than dooley the last two years.
Santos has two decisions:
Come to TN where you were wanted from day one and can help us get back to the top before you head for the draft in the first round like all of our other top players do.
Or go to Texas were they viewed you as a second option and would have ditched you in a heart beat if their first option had said yes.
Me personally, I would tell Texas to screw off. But that's me.
Also, with WVU and TCU coming in for A&M and Mizzou, the Big 12 has become more difficult while the SEC has become easier.
Well if he goes then he can find comfort in the fact that he was their 2nd 3rd or whatever option. I'd tell their arrogant azzes to piss off. They suck and as long as Mac Brown is there they'll be the Big 12's version of Georgia.
if you had grown up a Tennessee fan would you tell them to piss off if they offered you late?
Guess not. Just sucks we've been on this kid the whole time then the underacheivers come in a swoop him up. Stop injecting logic into my rants. They're much more fun when they're baseless and random.![]()

Don't let your Aggie hatred alter your perspective to this extent, brother. You know deep down that swapping A&M/Mizzou for TCU and WVU is nothing approaching a lean in your direction. Its just your way of trying to convince yourself that the Aggies didn't make a good move while also reassuring yourself that the B12 is in good shape.
Purely from a great football perspective. most Texas fans, me included, would love to see Texas in the SEC. What is preventing the move? The Texas President is a CAL alum and has always had a hard-on for Texas being in a conf with Stanford and Cal-Berkley for academic purposes.
Thin back to when you were 17 or 18 years old......you were infatuated with a chick who was a 10, you worshiped & adored her but she dated other people. You ended up dating an 8 who was a great girl but, a week before prom, the 10 approaches you and says she will make it a night you will never forget. Who, as a 17 or 18 year old kid, do you take to the prom? You take the 10.
The facts are on my side. TCU and A&M have the same # of titles (1) and both are ancient. TCU has a much, much better current history the past 15 years. WVU > Mizzou under any objective analysis.
Look, my feelings about A&M don't matter. No top 5 finish in almost 60 years. One old title. Those aren't my opinions, those are facts.
